When I was stationed in Vegas, me and a buddy wanted to go to a day game in Salt Lake City. 6hrs north of us. So we both got off shift around 9pm, hopped into his small early model eclipse, and started our drive. Factoring in the time zone difference and some issues, we arrived at Hill AFB at 6am. Took a quick power nap til 0745, and got back into the car to get to the field before game on at 9am.

First time paintballing with my MR1 (ok laugh I have an autococker now - so HA!) It was literally 30 seconds after confirmation I jumped into the car and got a ride to the local field. Changed clothes on the way.

Had all 9 fields to about 15 of us...epic.

Fun fun. and there is nothing wrong with an MR1. Good begginers marker.

A few times I'd get off work between 10pm-midnight (depending how long people eating stuck around). Go home, shower, change, throw my stuff in the car and drive 4-6 hours for games. The best time was going to a game 7 hours away. Got out of work at midnight, left my house at 1 am, got a flat tire after running over some crap in a construction zone, so I get to the field about 9am. Register, set up camp, go to the safety briefing, chrono, and load up to play.

I play 6 hours, make dinner, and go out to play the night game. First mission we were supposed to defend our base from an attack. So I'm sitting behind a wall, waiting. I'm on the very first row of bunkers and people behind me keep shining big spotlights over my head, so I drop down and lean up against the bunker.

The next morning I was woken up by the General and a couple Ref's checking to see if I was alive. Turns out I had fallen asleep waiting for the attack which never happened because the other team couldn't round up enough players who wanted to go attack our base. And the ones that did ran in to our team who was running a mission out in the middle of the field.

Since I had a full pack, hopper and air tank, I just woke up and ran the first Sunday mission by myself. No one else was on the field for either team. I took the location, held it for 30 minutes, then went and blew the other teams base as the first players for the other team were walking up to spawn. They had to wait 15 more minutes before an engineer finally showed up and could "repair" it, so I was able to go back and hold the objective for another 30 minutes (It was scored every 15 minutes. After the 2nd score I got bored, took 10 minutes to go blow the base and get back for the other two scores).

...So I think my point was I go through severe lack of sleep...which I'm doing now...

You fell asleep on the field and woke up the next day and just kept playing. That's hardcore. :ghillie:

I was stiff as a board too. Sleeping while sitting up against a tree using your harness as lumbar support is not good for the back/neck. :ghillie:

[edit] For some reason I wrote 'still'...I meant 'stiff'.

It probably won't be the last time I do it either.
Except I really don't play night games anymore, cause I prefer just hanging out and drinking with the team.

I'm going to drive 20 hours packed into my (Lifted, loud and rough as all hell) Jeep with 3 other people for LL3 and D-Day, and I've travelled for nearly 2 straight days for D-Day the past two years.

I'll do just about anything to play.

I'm jealous as hell man! I didn't have the cash money to do either of those this year, let alone BOTH.

The field in pickering has 24 hour playing times during the summer months, ( which is sweet) Although once you watch the clock hit 3:00 AM in the morning and THEN you decide: "Oh, I may have stayed to late!" the tiredness hits you, Marathon paintballing is a good idea for about the first 10 hours. after that you can't function never mind play.

Eat lots of pasta the day before. When you get out there drink lots of yellow gatoraid(no other flavor) and water and eat bananas(yes, bananas, not just fruit, bananas)
You should find that you have more energy over-all due to the pasta. Bananas contain a sugar that a lot like a carbohydrate than a true sugar(which will lead to a crash). The potassium is essential to muscle movements.
Gatoraid is essentially salt water, salt increases water consumption and is essential in sodium gated ion channels(along with potassium) that keep your neurons firing and you awake and alert. The salt normally sweated out needs to be replaced.
However, you will increase water usage due to your body trying to balance the leftover cloride, an alkaline material so you need to replace that water.

I suggest the following the day before

-Breakfast: boiled eggs, lots of them; wash down with milk
-Lunch: spagetti with chopped beef of some type(still pinkish); wash down with water
-Dinner: spagetti with chopped beef of some type(still pinkish); wash down with water
-Continue drinking water until your pee is clear

Beef is the easiest for us to digest and contains the most vitamins and minerals, pork is easy to digest but contains a lot of fat. chicken might as well be fiber, that is why it is a "diet meat" because you hardly get anything from it.
Don't worry about vegetables, they are pointless and the body gets very little from them in comparison to how much you eat.

The day of:
-breakfast: more eggs
-Lunch:bananas & gatoriad
-during/between games: water
-Dinner: bananas
-Midnight: bananas

Your body will run on the bananas until it runs out of sugar then will switch over to all the carbs you saved up by eating spagetti. It will repair muscle with the beef and your body will have gathered most of the vitamins and minerals from the meat.

Note: this is NOT a healthy diet to keep up. This is assuming the week prior you have eaten a balanced menu not consisting of pizza and pepsi.
