I'm in the prosess of doing kinda a history and review of the X7 for submission. I would like to hear from you the end user on your opinions of the X7 and even it's little brother, the Phenom. I already have an excelent collection of pictures to uses from my video work in the past. I want to hear what you like about it and what you don't like.

To get some insight into the X7 Phenom, research all you can about the history of Automags, it's next incarnation in (with another company) the Tiberius pistol and rifles, and that will lead you into the valve system of the X7 Phenom.

I really don't need history, more or less the opinions of x7 users

I have used and owned (5) A5's, 4 Custom 98 (2 ProEs) and a SL68. I recently purchased an X7 Phenom...because of the valve and modular redesign of the back half of the marker. The firing modes are typical tippmann, but, the real difference is in how quiet the Phenom is. I had limited play with it due to weather (cold, wet, windy)

I will use it again this weekend and will report back with more info.

There's more similarity between an Ion and DM than between the Phenom and an Automag. The Phenom is only like an Automag in that they are blow forward, spring return. The actual pneumatics inside are very different. The Phenom is a Sheridan Equalizer. But with a better reg.

The X7 Phenom works and shoots better than any other tippmann I have used or owned...and I have had a few very sweet A5s. It is not as quiet as a DM, EGO...(ur fav marker here), but, with the flatline attached and the velocity upped to 290fps, this thing will reach out and touch you from about 30% farther away than simply lobbing balls in at the enemy. It is a flatline, works like any of the tippmann flatlines and looks pretty good on the front of the X7.

The real tale of the how well the marker performs will be told when I get a chance to use it at a scenario under all those conditions.

Take care and so far, I plan to keep this marker...it is well made, with all of Tippmann's reliability and a nice warranty, too.

I rocked the Phenom at Fox4 this last Saturday; I was very happy with its performance. Stock barrel (9.5" w/ porting after 7.5"-ish) is decent...will be upgrading to a 14" J&J soon.

It has been 290 at the field I have been playing at for over 10 years. Nearly all of the 30 scenarios I have been to have had the FPS limited to 290 as well.

Would it make you feel better to know that it shoots really, really well at 325FPS? We tested the Phenom with FPS ranging from about 220 up to 330. It shot most consistently (using DXS Bronze) at 285-300, with 290 being about optimum, for accuracy, distance and no chamber/barrel ball breakage.

every field i have ever been on has either been 280 fps max or 250 fps max (indoor cqb). Never seen anything higher.

I am amazed your flatline worked at such high speeds. Usually they prefer the 260 FPS range to shoot in. Sure you can crank up your speed higher to get longer distance, but you get a crap ton more wingers and off shoots. Granted i am going on three years now without a flatline, so maybe they somehow changed that...don't see how they could

Legato...Come South. We play 12 mos. a year down here. (Blanding next month!---280fps limit)

I would love to play anywhere that the FPS is TRULY limited to 290. Many, many times (just stand near the Chrono, watch and listen) the markers being chrono'd are way above 300fps. The field may have a limit of 280 or 290, but...it is up to the player to have honor and follow the rules, whatever those rules are.

I wish everyone was as Chrono conscious on the field as they are on here!

Whether the field you play at has a limit of 280 or 290, follow the rules, it will be a funner day.

BTT:

The X7 w/flatline shoots quite well at velocities well above 260 (the ol A5 flatline loved that FPS).
