Scenario Game at Travis AFB

An early heads up for Memorial Day weekend!
After producing 3 well received scenario games in Hawaii Lockdown will be putting on our first effort in our home state of California.
We are busy ironing out the details so the art and promotional material is not yet ready. However, we wanted to give everyone a chance to get this Memorial Day Weekend event penciled into their schedule. This venue requires the game be preregistration only, and the pre reg will shut down 2 weeks before game on. No walk ons!
The early heads up is necessary because the event will be at Travis Air Force Base. Those that have played there before will recognize the area, but the old housing complex we played in and around is gone. However a large and well thought out recreational paintball field now stands in its place.
This event is field paint only as required by the venue. At least 6 different paint options will be available for purchase at pre reg. Ultra evil, Marbs, Valken Redemption and a full line of Karnage paint will be available. Air fills will not be an issue. The game will be supported by 3 compressors.
There will not be a shortage of field staff or referees. Lockdown’s roster of 20+ will be on hand to make certain the safety and enjoyment of our players is the highest priority. There will be no waiting to for player to take the command roles. These people are already in place so you can proceed with costumes, props, game planning, and general hijinks.
Value will not be an issue. Your 2 day game registration, all day air for the weekend, and a case of basic paint will cost $99.
We are currently trying to negotiate the ability to use the facility overnight to accommodate those who would like to stay for the duration of the game. If this falls through there are several inexpensive lodging options nearby.
We hope to see a lot of old friends as well as a few new faces at this event. We look forward to adding our own unique brand of scenario paintball to the California landscape.

See you soon!

We will be taking some promotional pics of our own in a few weeks. The field itself has some pics on its Facebook page (Extreme Paintball at Travis AFB)

Heres a good pic that should give you an idea of what the field is like....

REGISTERED PLAYERS
IMPORTANT INFO AFFECTING THIS WEEKS GAME

Due to sudden & unforeseen circumstances, the "Once Upon a Grimm" scenario paintball game, originally scheduled for Memorial Day weekend at Xtreme Paintball/Travis Air Force Base will be changing venues. Effective immediately, the game has been moved to Shooters All Season Paintball, in Nicolaus CA. All registrations are still valid and all paint purchases will be honored. The new field is located approx. 45 min.Northwest of Sacramento.

Once again THE GAME HAS MOVED TO A DIFFERENT FIELD

We realize that this is awfully sudden for such a drastic change - we just found out ourselves - and may present difficulties for some of our players - especially the military families who live on the base as well as those of you may have traveled hundreds of miles. But unfortunately our event has fallen victim to petty inter-departmental political infighting between different elements in the base Outdoor Services department, and the responsible authorities have rescinded approval of our event without any warning. We are shocked and embarrassed that something like this could ever have happened, and deeply apologize to our customers. It never occurred to anyone that someone representing the United States Air Force would go back on their word like this….We will be following up this post with information as to the responsible persons name & office contact info, as well as the contact info for this persons superior officer, and encourage you all to get in touch with these people & let them know how their thoughtless & back-handed decision has affected you. The fact that THEY waited until several days before the event to do this to us is both shockingly un-professional as well as damn near unforgivable. Needless to say, this situation presents all of us with some difficulties....

However, we have decided to face these difficulties head on. Where one door closes, another door often opens, & we have reason to believe that this may be the case. Another paintball field, Shooters Paintball has stepped up & offered to host the event at the last minute. Undoubtedly we will have to make some adjustments, and this may not work for all of our players, but we believe that we have the resources & the wherewithal to continue on with the game. It is very disappointing not to be able to hold the game on the field that we planned on & advertised for - and that you our customers paid for - but we will do the very best we can to make this event as successful as it can be. The field itself is approx. 20 acres of mixed density woodland w/ scattered wooden bunkers, with some smaller hyperball fields along the side, including one that is covered/enclosed & may be able to have lights for night play. Classic California woodsball….

(And believe it or not, there may be some potentially positive aspects to the change of fields. For one thing, there is no base security to contend with. Players may come & go as they please with no gates, guards, or restrictions, and the field is fine with Friday night camping as well. Walk-on players will also be welcome, as there is no need to cut off registration early. )

Of course we will give full refunds to anyone who wants one without question, and if anyone prefers a comp pass for a future game instead we can certainly arrange it…whatever it takes to do right by our customers, we will do.
However, we ask you consider staying on for the game. Many of you know Team Lockdown - you have played with us in the past and know how we conduct ourselves, and how seriously we take this sport. Lockdown has promised to host a weekend of kick-ass scenario paintball, and that is precisely what we intend to do. Same missions, same players, same props & costumes, same gunfights...

We will have more information posted shortly, so keep checking out forums & Facebook page for the latest info. Once again, our deepest apologies for this situation. We will be following up over the next day with phone calls to most of you to explain things further and to make whatever arrangements are needed. Thank you for your understanding in this difficult matter, and we hope to see you at the game.
