how do you view bunkering? do you allow it or not?

personaly i think if you can actualy get close enough to someone to bunker them then its fine to pop them

Avoid it where possible, be careful where necessary.

When necessary, shoot heels, shoe soles, pod packs, markers, anything hard and painless, or as low pain as possible.

At our WOODSBALL field it's illegal.
You bunker someone, = you get pentalized(SP).

Any questions?

If I see someone going to bunker a young kid, I try to tell them not to, but other than that its okay.

We have a mercy rule at our field. If its a game made up of two seperate groups then we strictly adhere to it but if its a private group and everybody is of close skill level we will be a little more laxed about it. We wont allow a really good player to pick on lesser skilled players though. I usually wont mercy somebody though i will simply take a shot before i get to close or ill find another angle. One thing that does annoy me as a player though is when i do a run through on multiple lesser skilled players and the eliminated players get into your way. Those of you who are skilled enough to accurately shoot on the run will understand what im talking about.
i will give up my marker only after you pry my cold rigid fingers from the trigger

Our my local field, bunkering is allowed, but frowned upon.

Again, like Tenacious, we normally aim for no pain or low pain spots.

I personally like to shoot them in the knee pads (if they are wearing them).

Id say it depends on whos gonna get bunkered, if its an experienced player than its ok, if its someone who hasnt played before or someone who is just getting into the sport i wouldnt want them to be intimidated by the fact that there are people that want to shoot them from 3 feet away and for them to not play any more for that reason.

Although my field strongly recommends a "surrender or die" call, it definitely happens and I've been known to do it myself. However, pod packs make good targets and there's no reason for more than 2 shots on a bunkering move.

However, the best option I've found is not to give them the chance to surrender but to simply inform them "player, you're dead". When you give them the option of surrendering OR dying, that's when they get ballsy and a close-range shot happens.

At my local field we have 2 different rules depending on whos playing... If its 3-3 or 5-5 and we're all experienced bunkering is in if its more then 5-5 its EXTREMELY rare we play it becuase you'll get double and triple ups and the guy bunkering may get lit, baddly. If we're playing standards (Writen Rules) no shooting in 10' and you just hit the bunker, atleast I do, hard to stop when you're my size and the refs take care of it.

We also have a "surrender or die" rule. However, usually when you sneak up on someone and yell "surrender or die" they in shock turn around and get shot anyways. We don't really worry too much about close shooting, our field is so thick and brushy that it's common to sneak up on someone and get a surrender at least once during the day, snipers paradise.

I go for pod packs or markers, masks if I'm quick enough. Everyone I practice with does the same. No one else really tries to bunker anyone so I dont know how theyd do.

Going for the mask is tricky...off by a little bit and you nail them in the neck or top of the head...both of which are not fun places to get hit.

Thats what I'm talking about quick enough. Most of the time people will flinch at the last second because for some reason they know you coming. If I get there quick they're still looking straight ahead so no flinching. The whole hitting it factor is where practice comes in.
