1.) there is no such thing as a stupid question with 2 exceptions:

2.) the response trigger is a small piston that goes inside the grip of a marker( mostly Tippmann) that pushes the trigger back to the firing position, allowing you to achieve higher rates of fire.

TM SNPR is correct. The piston uses excess gas from the cycling action of the marker and resets the trigger by pushing it back to the rest position.
