For me it depends on whats going on, I.E. speed or woods? position? number of players? a trigger-happy day? or a stealthy one shot, one kill "Where the BOINK did he go?!" kinda game? In reality it's all up to the player.

For example, I shoot about 3 1/2 pods and a full hopper in a regular CTF woods game. Where as I'll shoot upwards of 6+ pods in a speedball CTF game.

General rule for me is 1 pod for every 2 opponents.
That's roughly 80 balls per player (Dye Lock Lids), plus my hopper (330 APP) for the big firefight that will come up.

Scenario games I can carry up to 13 Lock Lids and the 330 hopper, with enough air to shoot all but 3 of the pods (back up for others, or I just refill my air when I'm out)
My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

Personally I'll carry about 1200 rounds on the field, but i can carry up to 1700 all told, if the situation calls for it.

but too much paint is when you start getting too heavy to move with your team reliably.

If our broadsword is taken out, I normally carry 5 - 140 round pods, in addition to my 200 round hopper.

I carry up to ten pods onto the field, but I don't know why. With my 68/4500 I can only shoot my hopper and six to seven pods before I run out of air. I don't see the point in carrying more paint than I have air to shoot. Maybe I need to get a larger tank...

LOL redleg same here and only one time did that come in handy we were at a game and I had all the paint I can carry 8 pods and a full 330 hopper about half way through the mission my team general asked if he could borrow a pod of paint thats the only time carrying more than I can shoot has helped.

too much is when you cant move anymore and start too look like a hammer. but i usually carry 1 hopper 3 140 pods. i can shoot all of it with one tank but if necessary i become the paint jockey and carry two more pods. other then that i will carry my 3 q-pods in my vest and one on gun.

I normally go by the rule of carry more air than you have paint. One of my team's members is our walknig ammo dump. 6 140 round pods in his vest, and 2 3 pod drop leg rigs. He can only shoot his hopper and 4 of his pods, so they rest comes to us when we need it. :)

Yeah, that's a good reason to, but I am slowed down by all that paint hanging off me. I like to be able to run around when I have to. I always seem to run out of paint or air right at the critical moment of the battle though. That's starting to become a bit too standard when I play paintball...

I found the cure for that problem man a 110 ci tank 4500 psi and my Ion gets me well through most games.

Well guys that that it's relevant but, I am a sniper and I'd bring the 1500 rounds to the field.

Regularly, I only play with about 200 rounds, however, none the less I bring 1500 rounds to the field.
