I bought my SP-8 a few months back and haven't had a chance to play with it yet. Shortly after I bought it, I hooked it up to a tank and ran a few rounds through it just to make sure it was working. Today I tried disasembling it for the first time so I could get a feel for the general maintenance but now that it's back together, it doesn't seem to be getting any power. I was careful not to yank on any of the wires going from the battery to the board and really the only difficulty I had when reassembling the marker was getting the board positioned properly in the frame. A few times it got stuck. I didn't try to force it in. Instead I just wiggled it out and repositioned it until it fit properly. But still no power. Any suggestions?

p.s. Yes, I know the battery is fine.

double check the wires leading to the board from the battery connection. If it is still under warranty contact Smart Parts, they should hook you up with no problems.

It's probably the battery wiresor your actual power button light, but it could possibly be the board or noid. Does it just not turn on at all or do you hear a slight puffing noise?

Thanks for the responses everyone. As it turns out, I am a complete idiot, moron, mind-blowing imbecile...whatever you want to call it. The SP-8 is my first electro and like I said, I haven't so much as turned it on since I first bought it a few months back. It turns out you have to press AND HOLD the power button in order to turn the marker on. Boy do I feel dumb. Sorry to waste all of your time. Thanks again!

If you felt the need... boards like virtue and some other aftermarket ones offer instant on functions.
