Prime example of how great monsterballs are...beforewarned, there may be some foul language...

Say what you like about Tech PB Mike...he's spot on with this one. And if I had a lump like that on my skull, I'd be throwing some f-bombs out myself too...

Monsterballs are like marbles & should only be used by riot control cops & rodent exterminators. Or just not used at all...that works too.

I have nothing against Mike, I just always put on language warnings...I'm fairly sensitive of language....monsterballs work great on mice as well...

they have great shelf life...you can leave em there for years and their condition doesn't change...the thick shell does some good.

Oh that's totally serious. Those things are the twinkies of paintball. They'll survive a nuclear apocalypse.

 :(
Priceless! If I could pick 2 reasons to explain to the world why monsterballs are such crap, these would be the ones I'd pick.

I've been shot by these stupid things and, sadly, used them.
I have never got a box of paint where the entire bag of paint can look like little squares....and still shoot!

I got shot once in the gogs from about 40 feet away. Since then I've been hit in the gogs from closer than that, but these things.... OMG- felt like someone had just slugged my mask with a hammer!! I thought for sure it had to have cracked my mask, but luckily it didn't.

People who say anything is possible never tried to slam a revolving door!!
There is no problem that cannot be solved with the proper application of explosives and duct tape.
How's that for a contradiction?

Hey Pat,

This problem is not just limited to Monster ball. This is a common problem with all cheap paintballs.

Monster Ball just happens to be the most visible because it is sold in Walmart.

The only solution to this is to go field paint only. We can ban a paintball but that won't stop players from bringing it in another container.

We have tried to educate players on paintball quality and the bottom line is the majority simply does not care. 98 out of 100 players would watch that Tech PB video and then take those paintballs out on the field and shoot them.

Too many players think with their wallet and not their brain and in this economy it's tough to blame them.

The trend to by cheaper and cheaper paintballs is clearly evident in our sales numbers over the past several years.

Players need better education to understand that if they shoot a paintball that breaks when it hits the target that they will spend less money. Many people understand the logic but volume seems to win out over skill and accuracy.

This same logic can be applied to the guns too....I could go on...

Education is a painfully slow process and with the internet and mass merchants now in control of retail paintball, our front line has little contact with educating the average new player to paintball.

I am very pleased that there are some players like yourself concerned about issues like this.
I am always working to keep paintball fun for everyone involved.
Thanks for the information and feel free to always keep me informed

this is the email i got from the owner of my the field i normally go to..

its true though.. players are thinking with their wallets and buying the cheapest crap they can..

its just pisses me off how they ban red fill paint and not this crapola that can really hurt you.

my mask cracked in a game recently, but luckily it didn't shatter. I left the game and looked over to where the guy who shot me, and lo and behold, it was the accursed monster ball. that was awful and i had to (obviously) get a new lens.

On my very first paintball outing. I had a case of 2000 monsterballs. I hit 2 people total over the course of a weekend while camping at my friends house for his b-day party. (around 12 people total) Now this may be due to me being a newb at the time, but I swear, maybe a total of 5 of those paintballs flew straight, if that. And man, the most painful paintball shots I've taken were during that very weekend as well. Nothing like getting shot in the opening of a baseball cap thats been turned backwards or getting shot in the hand by a monsterball. The welt on my head stayed for days. So did the fill from the paint. I'm glad my field already uses the moniker "field paint only." We have to use Draxxus. :)

Back when I was a newb to the game, I had a case of this stuff. When I played none of it would barely brake on people and they would just stay in. Soooooo, being the newb I was I just played the hurt game on them. Aimed low of course just to make them think about there jewels they had to protect...

Never played with monsterballs. WHat are they really?

Walmart Paint

Really thick shell and they are poorly taken care of so they rarely break, and they hurt alot. Way more than a paintball should...its similar to a reball, no joke.

Funny thing is they have a good fill.

Monsterballs have a terrible fill, its just oil and water, it is harder for fields to clean up.

Whenever I have broken monsterballs the fill was really thick and green, but that was twice so idk.
