For those of you that are with a team or were part of a team, do you think about leaving? do you still talk to your old team members? what was your deciding factor?
was the team you went to also another local field team?

just wondering out of curiosity.

Never considered it in the least. However I feel my circumstances are different than some others. My team is composed of friends wanting to simply play. We are casual players and not really competitive. We play for fun, so we have fun when playing; there's no real reason to leave.

I can see how or why people would leave if their team was composed of random players resulting from a try out or such. I've seen it at my local field, all the hardcore competitive players bind together and call themselves a team. There's drama and conflict and many of them leave to just play the game again. We picked up a player because he was tired with all the junk their 'captain' was putting out.

I used to be free agent til one of the remaining JT teams picked me up. I still talk to a lot of my old team members (from all the teams, ha). I left the other teams because none of them were going in the direction I wanted to go in. There was always a lot of drama too. Blah.

Well, it wasn't just me disappearing from my old team. It was that time, a lot of us were graduating, and oddly enough, most of the core players (including myself) left for one boot camp or the other. I still talk to other members, and they kick around on the field wearing our old team shirts. Which is great. We played to have fun, and yes, at times, to win, but the big thing was that we were all brothers. From the youngest (13) to the oldest (51).

Being on a team of friends, it would take a lot for me to seriously consider leaving. You aren't just leaving a team, you are potentially ending friendships. I wouldn't do anything hasty, step back, take a deep breath and think about why you joined and were part of the team in the first place. Are those things still there? If not can things be changed to bring them back? If the reasons are still there or can be brought back, then I'd definitely give it another shot. Air your grievances, maybe both parties can learn something from each other and move on together for the better.

I'm more-or-less a Free Agent. I'm on a "team", only in that once in a while we all show up to the same scenarios to cause a ruckus. We're scattered between Georgia, Tennessee, Canada, Virginia, West Virginia, and Germany (Guy's in the Army, he lives in Georgia). We only get to 1 or 2 games per season together.

I used to be on a local team, but the "Leaders" got way to into the Mil-Sim thing, and most of us bailed. Then I started going to local games with a couple friends who were on another team. The first game I played with them, I thought I'd make a good impression, so I stuck with them and followed their orders. They let me on the team, who's captain owns a "store" (internet store he just set up to sell stuff to the local weekend players). Well I gave him a list of a few things I wanted, to see what prices he could give me. While he claimed he wasn't making a profit on any of it, all of his stuff was above MSRP, so I went elsewhere. Combine that with me being more of the gun-fighting glory guy and a lot of them trying to be more Tactical (and NEVER going to other fields aside from the 2 or 3 local ones), I ended up leaving that team too.

I'll go to local tournaments with all my gear just to see if teams want/need another player. My usual terms are I don't pay for entry ($25/player at the tournaments), and I use my own paint, and only I use that paint (I get a good deal on paint from the guy that more-or-less sponsors that first team). The tournaments are BYOP, so it's never a problem. I prefer to find the team that is clearly unexperienced or out-gunned and ask if they want any help. The first few games are really fun, because you see the other team thinking they're going to have an easy match because these newer players are down a man (either 3-man or 5-man tournaments). I'll walk out just before the game starts, and every time it completely throws off these teams (I should mention that my area is kind of lacking in experienced players/teams).

So because I play scenarios, I won't buy a high-end unless it has rails at useless angles, and has a machine-gun shroud bolted on it?-Maduce

The last team I was on was huge, upwards of 30 members ranging from all different ages, abilities, races etc. More of family that happened to play paintball together. On top of paintball they were organized enough to do many charity events around the city which gained them some exposure and sponsorships. Those were the reasons I joined...

It turned out they were a bunch of NERTZbags, going as far as starting a fight with each other in the staging area at a scenario put on by a promoter we were sponsored by. The beauty of a team that size is they don't all suck and I've managed to stay friends with a couple of them. The team I'm on now is strictly close friends and it is going to stay that way.

At Waynes World finale last year some of my team were lucky enough to catch most of our old team off guard walking through the woods together. Apparently my two guys eliminated about fifteen of them in a couple seconds and managed to scurry off unscathed... vengeance is bliss...

Anyway, you'll know when its time to quit... as soon as you're not looking forward to going to a scrimmage, or you start avoiding your captains phone calls (and mine called almost everyday) then its time to bolt.

Got the Hitman ones somewhere.
Also, some of the jerseys and street clothes. That was one of our sponsors for a couple years, so I got all sorts of stuff.
