i used to experiment with different settings to get my A5 louder. if you attach a small 10" or less barrel, that helps to keep it loud n proud, plus it looks pretty cool to have a stuuby snubby coming out of it .. i have a 6" that makes it look like a hollywood gun.

I swap out A5 and 98 parts all the time, and their internals are virtually d=identical. So they are about the same when it comes to noise factors.

98 customs can be pretty darn loud.

My friend 98 custom is probably one of the loudest guns ive seen come to our local field and all has on it is pretty much a longer barrel. (22 inches )

Its louder than A5's Bt-4's and other guns.

Its louder than you would think, Bt-4 combat is a very similar gun and much quieter, So if your trying to be quiet i personally recommend a bt-4
-Also 98 i would say has a higher pitch sound to it while a a5 or bt-4 has more of a low bass like sound.

So in a way the 98 could be mistake for like a branch breaking, while bt-4 could be mistake for something hitting a building

I have a 98 custom that I shoot first strikes out of. I have a 16in stiffi on it and I have the rocket cock and I did the whole silicone padding thing. All that together makes it pretty quiet. Muted I guess would be a better word because my ion and dm4 are both quieter.
