I love my 98 Custom. It has all of the performance upgrades that I want and works wonders for me. I feel like it is lacking cosmetically though. What should I add to make my marker more visually pleasing? I'm looking to spend up to $100 to make my baby pretty!

Specs: - Tippmann 98 Custom
- E-Trigger
- 14" J&J Ceramic Barrel (sp?)
- TAPCO 6 Position CAR stock
- Halo TSA Backman

Keep it simple. Don't add any Opsgear shrouds or crap... I think it would look great with just the addition of a Bossman mag. Not very functional really, but it's not too expensive, and will add to the look of your marker, and seems to be what you're really looking for.

Would I have to buy a front grip too? Where would I put my non-trigger hand without a front grip?

Are you running with HPA or CO2. A consistent air source is nice to have, either with a Palmer's Stabilizer for CO2 use or a HPA tank.

I might get a stabilizer a bit down the road, but for now, I'm looking for a cosmetic upgrade.

Get a Stabilizer or HPA first, before a cosmetic upgrade.

Functionality is better than cosmetics.

Just give it a paint job, and buy a stabilizer/HPA

Personally if I had to choose between an ugly marker that performs well and a beautiful marker with TINKLE poor performance I would rather have the ugly one. Looks are nothing when compared to performance.

I would get the Stabilizer first before getting any other cosmetic upgrades.

Alright, I think I might go with a stabilizer or HPA.

Which one between those two would be more efficient? Quick question.. Are HPA, N2, and Compressed Air all the same?

PS - I play woodsball in Ohio year round so cold weather is usually a factor.

Yes. HPA and N2 and Compressed Air all mean the same thing in paintball. I would've recommended HPA and/or a regulator of some kind, but I had assumed you already had them :dodgy:. D'oh!

Chances are whatever place you go to, they'll fill your tank with compressed air.

If cold weather is a factor, you'd be better off with HPA. Co2 performs better in warmer temperatures. That said, you can get your gun extremely consistent with co2, and have it fully functional in cold weather, however I'm not the person to explain how to do that. But it can be done... it takes a lot of tuning though, and unless you play outlaw or your field doesn't do HPA, I'd suggest you stick with HPA.

As for a Stabilizer vs. HPA, they'd be about the same I'd imagine, but you need to take the environment into account. You'll also experience more shoot down with co2 than with HPA. Of course, a slow rate of fire and some other things can remedy this, but again, it's not my field and I can't really explain how you'd need to tune things to get the most you can out of co2.
