The stock X-7 does come equipped with rails. Those r for the X-36 foregrip that can accommodate six rails.

The dumb thing is that the pair of 2" rails is $15 or you can just take the tac rails off the stock X7 foregrip and attach them after you drill an extra hole in the G36K foregrip. Even if you want to fill up all 6 tac rail positions on the G36K, you can just buy more of the stock X7 tac rails for $4 each as a spare part. Those little 2" ones are silly & a rip-off.
IMO the longer rails look better anyway.

I still wish they shaped the "X36" foregrip more like the actual H&K G36 series foregrips. Maybe OpsGear will.

Ya, I agree. Especially since the actual H&K G36 series can at most accept 4 rails. I put the 2 stock rails & 8 "filler" screws on my G36 foregrip just to cover up the ugly holes that are so conveniently predrilled for us (feel the sarcasm). But for paintball I can't think of a single thing that is needed to put on the rails except maybe a broom handle and they put the rail holes on the bottom too far forward to use them for that. I've want to get a night game together & a flashlight might be useful for that, but otherwise ...
