The Red Piano is very strict - they have a dress code, won't seat large groups, and (apparently) have an age limit. Find somewhere else until your gf is old enough - not worth the grief and stress of arguing....

Well any company can refuse service to anyone. I'm not sure how it works in Canada, however in the USA they can do that and not really care lol and you have to be 21 to enter a bar!

In B.C., Saskatchewan, Ontario and Maritime provinces you have to be 19+ to enter a bar, in Alberta, Manitoba and Quebec, you only need to be 18+.

I think it's more business than discrimination. People probably pay an extra buck or two for the more mature atmosphere..... I mean I wouldn't, but apparently enough people do. If they weren't making money with the policy, they'd let it go.
Go Yoda -- I didn't order that!

I would. In Winnipeg, there are 2 general types of bars: Those owned by CanadInns and those not.

The CanadInn bars are all 18+ and filled with the barely legal (and sometimes ILLEGAL) kiddies who shriek like banshees "OMG I HAVEN'T SEEN YOU IN SO LONG EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!".

Now up until about a month ago, I thought these bars were great.

Wow, was I an idiot for thinking that. The non-CanadInn bars generally have a 21+ age limit, but are that much better and I'm willing to pay the extra bit of cover charge. You don't have girls screaming, and I've very rarely seen a fight at these bars because they're not somewhere you want to be banned from, as they're a lot of fun.

And Gauss, it has its upsides and downsides.

Here in Utah there is a Movie Theater that has 21 and older showings so you can go to the movies and not have to listen to kids cry and talk and whine and cough kick your seat and laugh way to loud, just in general annoy the crap out of you. I love it.
