Yea, the stock trigger on borgs aren't the greatest. I'm probably going to replace mine for the new season as well

Hopefully Era Designs releases their trigger soon (there's a thread about them on PBN somewhere in the MacDev section). But I doubt I'll wait that long - I'll probably end up buying a Violent trigger within a month .

The Gladiator is supposed to be extremely touchy like that. You use the Glad to get within 5-10 fps of where you want to be and then fine tune with the LPR. That's starting with the LPR screw being flush, btw.

Of course there's also the "set HPR to 200 and adjust LPR to chrono" method which generally works as well.

I stopped using gauges on it, they just blow out every day or two of play... waste of money since the LPR always ends up being tuned to flush more or less anyway .

How are you supposed to get within 5-10FPS of what you're looking for though when 1/16 of a turn - or less actually - jumps you 20FPS?

If a 16th of a turn moves it by 20fps, move it less? It definitely works and works well since the Droid uses the same HPR and doesn't even have an LPR. Just use a light touch.

1/16th of a turn is already a pretty small movement...

I get to play Saturday with the newly dressed Borg...I will play with my HPR and see what mine is adjusting at.

Your 1/16 of a turn does not seem out of line with my memory though.

I've probably just gotten accustomed to the Hyper3's adjustment from my PM8 :P.

Ok so I have to give the borg a backhanded compliment and say it shot just as well as an ego. I figured with the odd grip they would be uncomfortable for me but my gun went down and I grabbed a RX from the pit and didnt have a problem. It seemed to be really quiet too. The gun shot so well I started to run from D side mayan to S side mayan (chitown layout) one handed shooting (dont ask) and shot the other guy in the hopper.

Good to hear you liked it.

From what I have been hearing from the regular RX shooters out there the gun just gets smoother and quieter as you use.
One guy is just breaking the 20 case mark and has been seriously surprised by how the gun has smoothed out.

And with the release of the new Gold Bolt testers are starting to report a couple extra pods per tank with a softer sound signature.

It surprises me that with all the field testing these guys do that they are still able to eek out just a little bit more with simple changes.

Yea I think I shot it before the owner so that may be true. I'm not saying it was bad really since any ego I pick up from the pit has a zick kit, but it didnt seem different.

...extra PODS per tank? Plural? On a Borg RX? That's just ridiculous, really... you must be hitting upwards of 2100 per 68/4500 after that. The long break-in time puzzles me a bit, because a long break-in time is usually a sign of somewhat mediocre surface finish. I'm tempted to rub a little toothpaste on the ram if I ever get a Borg NIB, just to polish up the ram sleeve a bit. On the flip side, I've shot an RX at the 2-case mark and was quite impressed. Mediocre surface finish, me being impressed, that means just amazing design.

With regards to setting a Gladiator regulator. Yes, they're twitchy. Buy a long-handled allen wrench, and put the short end into the adjustment screw. Suddenly moving your hand an inch and a half will only move the screw through 10 degrees of movement (or one-36th a turn). Problem solved.
Feedback.
