US Army National Guard
Specialist E4
Military Police
Deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedon/Operation New Dawn.

Been in for about 2 and a half years. Involuntarily transferred for the purpose of mobilization. I was switched from the unit on my second drill with them. They were a rear detatchment with the mainbody being overseas. I transferred and deployed. I was a gunner in an MRAP (Maxxpro) running a 240B. It was a long year. Got back in April. I miss my M9. I feel so naked without it after carrying it everywhere.

Yeah, and Im 19... so I cant even buy myself a beer. Real Hooah.
Iraq. Been there. Done that. OIF 2010- OND 2011.

I feel ya, It's pathetic really. Too bad they can't change that, we all know the masses would ruin it for the few who would be responsible and enjoy it.

The Civil Air Patrol is not a branch of the military it can I suppose be "called" paramilitary but any group of people who organize themselves can be put into that category really.

You're right, it is not a branch. It is an official Auxiliary of the US Air Force, which IS a branch. It is "paramilitary" because its members are overseen by the military, wear military uniforms, and follow a military chain of command, despite civilian status. I might add that a VERY strong percentage of its members are active duty, retired, or former service members.

Rawr! (Caps :P)

So in more news, I am graduating one of my "C" schools with honors and a letter of appreciation from the C.O. No complaints there. Now just a few more schools to go before I get to that mythical thing they call the "fleet." (Sigh) I am pretty sure it is just a made up hollywood thing, like the moon landing. (fleet returnees are paid actors I believe)... A year on Corry Station does that to you.

Oh and my one year of being stuck in pensacola FL was yesterday.. Whoopee.. :\

Caution: Common sense is advised when reading above post.

What were you here for?

I can't stand FL. I miss New England (Mountains, weather, etc). I can only take so much beach and humidity.
