I just got in a new sly profit mask today, and of course I took it out of the box and tried it on. In doing so, I inadvertently stuck my finger on the inside of the lens. Well, that left a smudge. I was thinking no problem, I'll just take the goggles out and wash it off with some water and cloth. IT WONT GO AWAY! I cannot get this smudge to leave, and its right infront of my eyeball when the mask is on. :(

I do not want to damage the lens, does anyone have any suggestions?

hands were clean I promise, just oily residue that leaves finger prints....

I'll be honest, I cant even tell which side of the mask the smudge is on..., I put it under the light and don't see bumps/ridges/scratches, I'm assuming it's on the inside because it's harder to tell on that side with the curve of the lens.

I'm wondering if its inside the thermal lens and was shipped that way.

Well, that would make sense you can't get it clean if it's in between the lenses. That pretty well stinks, I'd contact SLY directly: (949)200-7348.

Yeah, I will be contacting them. I thought it was me at first, but the more I look at it, I'm just not so sure anymore.

its not a thin round sticker is it? There is one on the top of my mask I still have not removed for some reason...

Try the inside of the microfiber bag, it might be able to buff out the smudge

lol, no not the thin round sticker. This spot is dead smack infront of the eye. I put the mask under light and both sides reflect like glass, and I'm REAAALY looking at it closely. I did try the microfiber bag, I can't even smudge the smudge, nothing happens to it at all. I will be contacting Sly in the morning, I think I got a bad lens. Hopefully they will send me another lens (I would like the mirror finish -look like Cobra Commander-) If not this puppy will be going back to ASNgear. I feel if I try to do anything else to this lens at this point it might hurt my chances of getting a new one; but I appreciate all of your comments though.

You know there's a thin plastic over it to keep it from scratching, right?
CptObvious got one before Fulda and was complaining about something similar. I was like 'Dude... pull the film off.'

Oh yes, I noticed the plastic film. This was not anything of the sort. This was just one little spot (about the size of a dime), and I couldn't do anything to get rid of it. I contacted SLY and they said they would send a replacement when they received the other lens; it's already on its way back to them.
