Let's get some interesting discussion going. Fun stories about some SC speedball, or limited paint OC speedball, etc. Too many people get stuck in that 'speedball means electros' mentality.

I play pump speedball sometimes... not much recently though.

I never really play limited paint though.

the only way i play speedball is with a pump. Usually use my Stock class stuff. Super stocker or Buzzard, but i just got MTaylor's Pug and have been LOVING using that. Been playing better then ever with it. Can move fast and aim with ease. ;) Wouldn't dream of playing speedball with anything else :D

I use my Mini from time to time when playing speedball, but I really prefer shooting my Super Stocker over the Mini. Well that and most of the time I cant afford alot of paint so a bag of 500 lasts all day with the SS where as a case with teh Mini would only last a few games.

Infact, the first time I ever played pump was in a speedball game. It was a lot of fun!

I've recently acquired a Line SI Bushmaster, complete with Quickstock, I'm planning to use this weekend- cramming a 10rd in the feedneck counts as stock class, by the old rules, too! Unfortunately, can't afford a SC feed for my Illusion, so I hide the pumpiness under a Rotor. Shot out the captain of my old team with that Illy on several occasions, to which he responded by asking if my gun was on a cheater mode :( The refs (who know me and my pumps well) were in hysterics as I slapped the pump back for a nice backblock 'clink!'

My favorite pump speedball story:

I broke out to D1, game goes on lalala. Ends up with me and my pump vs a semi at my mirror (D1), and snake. Snake was pinching me so I bumped back to Dorito corner (lay down can). And I look tape side to see what dorito was doing and I look back snake side and I don't see him so I figure he's crawling, so I go back snake. All of the sudden I hear heavy running close. I look above the can (it was laying down) I see my friend with a pump coming over. He tries to jump over the bunker backwards and basically sits on it. He fires one shot and bounces my armpad. I come around the bunker (the can launched him forward) one handed and fire a shot blindly cause i didn't want to expose myself too much to D1 and gog him. Then he hits me in the upper arm and it actually breaks. D1 couldn't stand up cause he was laughing so hard.

Off the break I ran right up the center and got about to the 50 and got pinned down behind a beer can by a guy with an electro standing in the back right corner. He was hosing away at the beer can. I popped out low to shot at him, pulled the trigger and the ball barely flew out. Ooopppsss, I forgot to change my 12 gram in between rounds. When I had popped out, I saw the guy standing there holding his marker in one hand, pod in the other, filling his hopper. I pulled back in, changed my 12 gram. He just kept spraying away I popped back out on the other side to take a shot with the fresh 12 gram and saw him with another pod in his hand, dumping it in the hopper and two pods on the ground near him. He just kept spraying away. When he stopped shooting I swung out and around the beer can and he immediately raised his marker and called himself out, bent down and started picking up empty pods. He had emptied a hopper and six pods on the beer can. The guys I was playing with had pretty much taken care of everyone else during my stand-off. I just laughed, stock class (with a dead 12 gram none the less) versus an electro. I got to shoot one ball and he wasted a hopper and six pods.

Played some ball yesterday, and borrowed a friend's Jackal RDL bodied sniper at one point- it weighed NOTHING! Til then I had been using my Illusion, cuz my Bushmaster needs resprung- musta come from So Cal or something; I was only getting 155 with a #4 powertube the way it was sprung, probably due to the cold weather chilling my 12gs. With the Illusion I got some cross-field shots that should have been downright impossible- blind lobs over bunkers onto visors, toe shots from corner to 40, and other bits of ridiculous awesomeness. It helped that the old guy on the other team was shooting the bounciest batch of Marbs I've ever seen- I got bounces off my calves and triceps, and I am not well-padded.

My paint was a bit TOO brittle though. Went to make a bunker move, put my barrel 2 feet from the guy, pulled the trigger, and covered him with splatter. I took 4 or 5 in return for that one.

Stock-class speedball, it's the only way to fly...

Using my VSC Phantom vs semis totally changes the game for me. It just amps up the intensity, as I have to play smarter and faster than the opfor just to stay in the game.

CMP here has a pumps only night on Mondays. It's a grinder of a field, you make a mistake and you're out pretty much. I've been playing SC with my Phantom for the last few weeks there, mostly because I've been broke and it's cheaper that way. Played last night, had a lot of fun for a short grouping. But I'll tell ya, the older you get, the harder it is to play SC on speedball fields. I'm not as flexible as I used to be...

I don't have any real cool stories, but I've played a little bit of SC on speedball. I found it very challenging, especially versus OC pumpers. Most of my speedball experience has been with electro and open class setups. If I had more time to play, I would do it SC more often. I found that I'm just more effective with an OC setup at minimum.
