Oh, I have a palatte. Just not for scotch... or wine (found that out in school). I can eat a bite of food and tell you exactly what's in it/what it was seasoned with. It's just I haven't had experience with scotch or wine, so I know what I'm tasting.

Also Dr. Pepper and Bourbon is good. Especially cheap bourbon. I mean, you're mixing it, you don't need Makers for that.

I was actually one of the heads in the class as far as palettes go for wine tasting (only behind two of the instructor's long time wine tasting buddies who were just taking the class for the hell of it). Made it all the more satisfying when I pretty much flat out rejected her entire philosophy that French wines are the only wines worth studying in depth. Only French wines I particularly care for are the Alsatian wines, like Gewurztraminers and Rieslings.

French wines. So snobby.
Alsatian/German wines are win.

Or Mead. It's like wine, but better...

I like mead on ice. Next up, I want to use the mulling spices.

And I'm going to try my damnedest to make a good beer/liquor run tomorrow. Seriously, I need some decent beer. I'm getting low. And I'm flat out of whiskey. The only liquor I have left is about 2 shots of rum.

Make that one shot.

It's weird being in a place that Bud, Miller, Coors...all that, is imported. haha.

And if you ever have the chance to drink Guam Beer, don't. Ever. Someone gave me one to try while over there and it spat it right out. It looks like chicken broth.

Got some Original Sin hard cider. Got a couple of pumpkin ales. Got a buncha Ocktoberfest/festbiers.

No liquor today, but I'm off tomorrow too.

Saw something I am considering going back for.

You know what. I think I'll get it and enjoy it this weekend. Going out of town, and I could use something unique.

Edit: They have one of their earlier craft beers there too, the Prickly Pear Braggot.

That name alone makes me wonder what is in the bottle...and I dislike beer greatly.

But "Prickly Pear Braggot" just seems to whisper "taste me".

That's what my friend said about one beer - the one that tasted like baked beans.
He regretted that purchase :P haha pear sounds somewhat nicer, however.

So, I got a bottle of that Kraken rum. Our local package store started getting it.
Why? Cause I (Yes, specifically Me) asked for it. I love knowing the girls that work at the liquor store.

Unfortunately, I drank the whole bottle in one night. I remember it being pretty good. But that's it.

No more liquor/beer runs for me for a while. I got so many half bottles sitting around, as well as random cans/bottles. I want to clear all inventory before I go get more.

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

How does it compare to Strongbow/Bulmers?

If you're interested in Brother's Reserve, have you tried Innis and Gunn? (My girlfriend liked it; I'm not a beer guy)

They do Oak Casks and special finishes (ie. Rum, etc.)

At Pirate: well, at least you liked it if you downed it in one night :P

And cdrinkh, true, but apparently I got a little out of control at the party. At some point I apparently fought a tree and by all accounts, won.

Yeah sounds kind of like the night by the firepit...by the time my girlfriend and I had arrived after my shift, my girlfriend's dad, her friend's boyfriend, and her friend's dad had downed that bottle and some others and were totally wasted. Apparently, none of them except his wife had seen her friend's dad drunk for 20 years of her life :P

There was singing, among other things. :P
