I wasn't sure where to post this.
I just bought a phantom. It isnt supposed to be here for a while, but I was wondering how much of a change is it from going from a decked out a-5 to a pump. Like in play style and so on.

You'll wonder how you ever played with so much weight.

You might also feel that sometimes you have gotten shot simply because, in the past, you leaned out of the bunker too long because you were able to shoot more than one ball.

Now you pop out, shoot one ball, and get the heck behind your bunker.

At least, thats how it is for me.

You'll find that you get to play more since you'll be spending less time fixing your marker. Oh yeah, and you'll have a marker that shoots straight :)

its going to be very hard to get eliminations now. I went from an a-5 to a phantom before and it was hard. the constant knowing that you have to put in paint is annoying. the balls will roll out and that gets very annoying, the gun is light and quiet which is nice, just you will need to find some 10 round tubes somewhere and a harness.

Ok thanks.
I was looking, and I really like the pbmafia leg harness so I might order one of those.

First off, congratulations! Now you're going to be a pump addict!

But anyhow. From first-hand experience, I wouldn't go with the leg harness. I'd either get a belt, a pack, or a wrist setup like I have. Whatever you do, I'd go capless. It just makes things easier when you just have to grab a tube, shove it in the phantom, and slide it back into the harness. I keep 5 12ies on my wrist and 5 tubes on my other wrist normally. For big scenario games, I keep an extra 15 tubes and 10 12ies in a belt. I've got my wrist rig capless and my belt normal, so that if I make any hard moves and lose tubes, I can just go back and pick them up. With a capless setup: if it falls out, it's gone. The only reason I suggest you stay away from leg rigs is thus: Crawling, you can lose / break tubes. When you slide, it's all too easy to drop some tubes or shatter them against your leg. Neither of these is very fun. I've broken and lost tubes with other setups, but not nearly as often.

Best of luck! If you've got any questions feel free to PM me.

I have the PBMafia leg harness and I like it. It is easy to forget you have it on, and I holds plenty of paint and 12ies for me. I don't slide though so that isnt a problem, and speed caps ( caps for tubes that are attached so you can flick them off and not loose them) make it quite easy to reload. It really depends on your playing style.

some people on here like the leg harnesses, I personally do not because i think it slows my running down. I like 10 round stock class sprinter packs. The ones that go on your back. Its really light, keeps your legs free, and holds alot of tubes.

lol my situation excactly. from a-5 to phantom, id say theres a huge weight difference. Also, for me, since I have a direct feed and a hopper, the hopper feels really wobbly and stuff compared to my a-5. I still need to get a SC feed, but anyway........

For 10 round tubes, I usually just cram them in my pocket. Since I just play in jeans, there is no limit to the number of those.

I don't know if it's just me, but my phantom is loud, so I figure a new barrel will help it. Since I just run a remote and stick it on a fatty pack with my crossfire tank, I dont know about 12-grams affecting it and whatnot.

Anyway, congratz on getting a phantom!
It's only a game, you don't need to be afaid of anyone, except for ONE person. Its not the teenager with a marker worth more than your car. Its not the SPPL player with about 35 BPS firing rate. Its the 40 year old guy lying in a corner, taking a nap before the game begins. His camo will probably be old, and he will most likely be toting a pump. He's been playing since before you were born, and if he mentions how much he didn't like when he had to play with oil based paintballs, make SURE he is on your team. This guy is a ghost.-Match99
