ok, i am looking at at Tippmann 98 custom, or a smart parts ion. they are both used and both upped. here is what they have:
Tippmann 98 Custom:
20inch spider sniper barrel
barrel adapter
red dot scope
electric hopper
double trigger
response trigger (fully automatic)
pods
two Co2 tanks
and cleaning tools.

And now for the ion
Smart Parts Ion
custom flame drop
nitro tank (fiber wrapped 3000psi)
Apache hopper
stock barrel
pods
brand new barrel sock
and a Paintball Arena Headband.

So those are what they have. I already own a Tippmann A-5. and i play woods ball mostly but i would like to try speedball. They cost about the same and i am trading one of my bikes for one of the markers. im really confused.

Get the ion. If u already have an A-5 and u want to try speedball why would u get a 98c with a (waste of space) 20in sniper barrel?

That ion costs the same as the 98C package?

If the ion comes with a 68/3000 wrapped tank and hopper --- those two items alone is worth what the 98C package is worth.

Get the ion. If you got an A5 then the 98C is a step backwards.

Okay then how about nothing on that 98 is anything special? The Ion will get more speed and far better efficiency than a 98 with response trigger you can use your A5 as a backup. Speed or woods there is no reason at all to buy a 98 if you already have an A5 as it has already been said the 98 is a step back from the A5.

If you are looking for an electro gun, I would suggest an ICD Promaster.

Looks like its a local trade so try and stay on subject.

Unless you're a mech whore or cant get HPA fills, i dont see any reason to go with the 98.

If you have the A-5 go for the Ion...just be careful with it. Ions aren't the most predictable makers out there.

Just make sure the Ion has a good service record if you know what I mean.

Tough choice but just to let you know after 16" of barrel length, you just was gas. You will so no accuracy difference with 16" or 20". Sense you want to go speedball, I would say the Ion is going to best suit you. Scratch that you want to TRY it, then go with the Smart Parts Vibe. $130 and works on CO2. Ions have bad resale value so if you don't like Speedball, you just wasted some $$$.

I would go for the Ion. (You can use it for more than a speedball gun)

I'd get the ion for the fact the it comes with a HPA tank.
