Alright, I'm making damn sure that I'm going to be at D-Day 2008. And I want to make sure that anybody else who wants to can as well.

So, with D-Day 2007 barely over, I'd like to start with getting a gauge of interest of people so we can start setting up transportation, forming units, gauging costs and all that fun stuff.

So, if you're going, want to go, can help others go or just have any general questions, post 'em up here. Later, I'll be working up a gear list that people are going need so everybody can make sure to get prepared over the next year.

If anyone's interested, we have open slots in the 352nd Panzerjagers. I'll be the XO next year, so if you'd like to join, we'd love to have you. We're the German anti-tank unit. We've had two very good years now, and we're looking to maintain that tradition. Drop me a message if you're interested.
Oklahoma D-Day '05 (352nd ID), '06 (352nd PJ), '07 (352nd PJ), '08 (352nd PJ), '09 (352nd PJ). It was a good run.

That's another thing, Proto. If you've got a unit, especially a Canadian or Canadian-themed unit, post up here. Half the fun of D-Day seems to be in getting in a good group.

BTW, anybody know if the Canadian Scots have any plans to go next year? I'd love to play in an entire unit of kilties!

It's either this or next years Elite Weekend.....

I don't know which to choose!

And Proto, if I do go, you know I'm down. :)

That's why I'm leaving a year for myself and anybody else interested to get organized. I'm personally looking at about $2000 of plane tickets, paint, gear, admission, food, camping and so on.

And I'd go for D-Day over Elite Weekend. It's the biggest event on the planet-there were upwards of 4000 people there, almost every paintball company out there was representing, it lasts a whole awesome week and I don't have to pay for an X-7 I don't want.

Anyways, I think a first order of business should be to get people out there willing to organize local carpools and such-personal convoys, rented vans and buses and so on. Also, getting all over our local fields and getting a gauge of interest. Obviously, there'll be little commitment this early in the game, but interest is a good spot to start.

Also, tomorrow I'm going to run up a gear list that we should work up-stuff like what gear we need, how much clothing to bring, what to expect for conditions and such.

I'd be happy to join up - however, I'm fairly new to woodsball and I'm not in any possition to be judging my skill. Plus, I'm low on money currently as well as the fact that I'm not on an official team since the Ottawa paintball scene is pretty lame.

I'm thinking about going but i have to make sure id be able to get the time off work. If I go I want to rent a bus and try to get others to represent the New Brunswick,North Shore Regiment of that were also part of the invasion during d-day.

Busses are expensive. I looked into it earlier, you're looking at close to $2000 or so for a trip down there,
