READ THIS BEFORE VOTING:

i was reading through all of the gibberish in the "new position" genre of posts, and thought i'd bring the good ones to vote

Guardian, kinda similar to what's been posted as "defense" before
1. a guardian carries a heavier marker like a broadsword, he's prepared to lay down a line of fire against a group of players
2. while the broadswords and hammers are laying down fire on the front, the guardian is behind unselfishly covering the flag, base, commander or your rear in general , and no not an extra 10ft behind you, but way back, he's footballs free safety.. nobody is getting behind him, it's his job to make sure you dont get shot in the butt and he's equipped to take 20 people if he needs to!
3. he may elect/should carry grenades with or without trips, or mines to protect his position if the game calls for it.
4. he's not running front, hes not allowed, you're depending on him to stay back there!
5. he's got some form of communication with your commander, if he's in trouble, your teams in trouble

Javelin, i know what you're thinking, having a LAW or Grenade lancher is scenario specific.. no having a rarer piece of gear is not specific, it's no more specific to a hammer with a DT, and should be considered
1. he's got a LAW or a grenade launcher
2. enough said.. no other position covers it

Shock trooper thread on the shock trooper: http://forum.specialopspaintball.com/index...howtopic=126666
it's like a seek and destroy broadsword/sniper with an electro .. just read through the thread

Specialist
this would be the medic, engineer, javelin, armour, etc, etc, etc.. the list goes on you would pick this for anything that wasn't a sniper/dagger/sabre/broadsword/hammer/commander... with so many people not liking the positions that don't fit them or their style of play they could just pick that one..

Armour .. not rocket science here
1. you drive a tank
2. or you ride in a tank

none, they're all stupid
go ahead pick this one, not hurting my feelings... none of them are my original ideas :)

I choose specialist because medics are nice to have
It doesn't have to look good as long as it works

their is always a sniper watching you

OF course these are all "good" positions. But these are all either rule-specifc, scenario-specific, or fall under the sub-category for one of the exisitng positions. I don't see what we're voting on. They're all good and can all be used, but won't become Special Ops positions because they aren't flexible enough or don't work in every possible situation.

Why do we keep getting so many of these polls? If you want SpecOps to make it "official", then post your position, make your case, and let it be. I'm sorry, but excessive amounts of polls aren't going to suddenly get something created.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... none of them are more specific to rules or scenarios than a hammer. i put up the vote because there's numerous posts proposing the same position over and over, to see if their idea is any good... well now they can just look and see what people think.

I agree, and I personally think Hammer shoulsdn't really be a position because of it's specifics on gear. I'm just saying that the positions are all pretty much sub-positions for the base positions. While we're on the subject, don't go through all of the trouble lablingyourself as a certain position: play as a team, and play where you are needed, just use your position as a guideline. Any specifics like grenadiers and anti-tank guys are labeled as scenario positions, so you're definitely in the right place if you want to talk about those :).

i personaly like the shocktrooper variant.... it makes sence.

he coveres the two wide ends of the spectrum (accurate & stealthy meets fast-shooting and bulky) but doesnt cover the middle ground that a sabre would need. ie commander, dagger. i wouldnt call it a hybrid however as shocktroopers were called stormtroopers in WWI. they practiced something known as blitzkrieg.

would be fun... all of a sudden 2 sneaky sons of canines with lack of y chromosome sneak up behind enemy lines and unleash the firepower of 5 with uncanny accuracy!

think doubleT with a freak kit, stock, and red-dot scope.

themesong: dragonforce, through the fire and flames... search it, youll know why it fits so well.

also this would be a nice force for synergy with the tanks. i mean.... get something thats hard to get out behind enemy lines, then unleash a full blown assault!
