I dont know if I posted this hear yet, so I'll post anyway.

Last year my dad expressed interest in a boot knife. He had mentioned that it would be neat to carry one around. So I decided to make one. It took me about 2 weeks( combined solid work) to have the design and the finished product made. I have made knife handles and done some blade work, but never a full knife and case before. So iset out and it came out something like this.. Enjoy:)

The pistol is dad .38 snub nose police revolver, dang nice shooter.

more pics

The handle is red wood, and the steel is support steel from a playground set. I polished the steel myself too. The rivets are bolts that I cut and filed down. And teh case is read leather with brown hemp sewn around the edges to secure the two pieces together.

S&W model 10-8? And with the original wood stocks too? Nice.

Oh yeah, good work on the knife. Might not have been my choice on blade metal, but I really like the red wood and sanded rivets on the handle.

Yep, S&W, but its a 10 5 K frame. And its a detectives pistol, not a police one, sorry.

Ah. I knew it was a 10 series, and I knew the 10-8s were issued to police. I thought the bbl looked about an inch and a half short though. 10-5 snubby would make more sense. Still, the K-frames were some of the best looking S&Ws put out. Now if they'd actually handle .357 Magnum they'd have been great.

Of course that's where Ruger's Six series came in. :D

Still, a revolver, a fixed blade, and a leather jacket. It's like the masculine Trifecta.
