When I opened up the box I could tell they were gonna be pretty good grenades. The first thing I noticed was the size. These things are big. With about the same amount of paint as a F-Bomb grenade it will definately get paint on target. The next thing I noticed was the trigger system. It was a pretty unique design. There was a piece of PVC at the top with a little piece of flexible plastic as a pull pin.
Once I took them out of the plastic bags they were shipped in I saw that all of the grenades were made of great materials. Everything used to make the grenade appeared to be quality materials. The grenade was shaped more like a F-Bomb or BT grenade, with a round shape, instead of a longer narrower grenade. Most home made grenades I've seen are longer and tend to not fit in the grenade pouches on vests. The paint was pretty good. My only problem with it was that it seperated a little bit (nothing that a quick shake doesn't fix) and that it was a little watery. A thicker paint might be a little better.
This is probably the most important part of a grenade. Whether or not the grenade goes off depends almost entirely on the trigger system. These grenades went off both times I threw them. Even when one hit a tree branch and landed on soft ground. But they only go off when you want them to. I drop tested a grenade from various heights to test if a hard dive or drop would make you take the long walk to the dead box because of your own grenade. Fortunately it won't. The grenade leaked a very small amount of paint (less than an ounce) after 5 or more drops.
Unfortunately I didn't actually eliminate anyone with these grenades. The one time I got close enough the grenade hit a tree branch and fell out of range. I did do a test with my brother and his friend while we were waiting for the next game though. They stood side by side about a foot apart. I stood about 10 feet away and tossed the grenade in between them. It bounced and put a huge mark on one and put splatter all over the front of the other. Both would have most likely been called out by a ref.
These grenades are great. They are totally worth every penny. My only complaint is that the paint is a little thin. Everything else is great. I would reccomend these grenades to anyone. It goes off every time.
I will have to check with my brothers friend to see if the paint washed out of his hoodie. I will put that into the review once I find out.
