Action Pursuit Games, August 08, volume 22, no. 8, "Gear up to Disappear!", page 33, 2nd column, 3rd paragraph. Authored, I believe, by Marc Gottfried. And I quote:

"The Smart Parts "Spec Ops" line is cool. Also, they feature a really great vest builder application on their website. This allows you to create a tactical vest with about a million different options and made of the camo pattern that suits your playing environment best. They also have jerseys, pants, and some crazy-looking markers if you're going all the way."

Also in the article is a picture of a gentleman named Tyger Rubin (Our Tyger?).

I didn't realize that Spec Ops was owned by Smart Parts. Is this true? Or should I write on Spec Ops behalf and request a retraction?

Pretty sure that's just a dumb mistake. Careless writers make them all the time.

If SO were owned by SP, you'ld see mods for SP1s, not A5s and X7s.

SpecOps is in a partnership with Tippmann, not Smart Parts.

Hahaha I read that same article a few days ago and was equally confused. I was under the impression that Tippmann pretty much owned Spec Ops. And it is Tyger. (Shameless plug!)

Tippmann DOES NOT own Special Ops. Special Ops Paintball is it's own company. The two companies have WORKED together to design the X7.

I can't say for sure if it's our Tyger in the picture but wouldn't be surprised. His name is Rob Rubin, not Tyger Rubin.

So should I write and ask for that retraction then? :panzer:

It could be some secret plot by Smart Parts to trick us all into buying their products...

On a more serious note, that's a pretty big typo.
Yeah I use an M-16 grip, wanna fight about it?

Best webcomic ever.

Tyger isn't his first name... it's Rob Rubin I believe.

I have been pretty disappointed in most of the paintball magazines that are out there. Every one has typos and researching errors. Very sad, no wonder why some thing the sport is a big joke.

And Puz, sorry about my misunderstanding. I was told by a guy at XFire Paintball in Auburn, MA that Spec Ops was owned by Tippmann. That is the only time I heard that from anyone.

No worries. It's an easy mistake to make when the X7 is labeled the way it is.

It could be simply the name of a product line. The term "specops" has been used for years before paintball markers were ever made, albeit far less frequently.
This is my sig. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My sig is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My sig, without me, is useless. Without my sig, I am useless. I must type my sig true. I must spell better than my enemy who is trying to judge me. I must type before he ridicules me. I WILL... My sig and I know that what counts in this forum is not the rounds we fire, the noise of our burst, nor the splatter we make. We know that it is the hits that count. WE WILL HIT... Before the Admins, I swear this creed. My sig and myself are the defenders of my forum. We are the masters of our enemy. WE ARE THE SAVIORS OF MY PROFILE. - Tippmann Owner #pi

Hahah yeah. I was actually kinda convinced because I saw a Spec Ops vest in the shop with the Tippmann logo on the pod velcro straps (on my vest it's the Spec Ops logo)
