If anyone of you remember my thread on that eccentric field owner, this story(rant) builds on it.

Okay, around me, within a reasonable amount of driving, there are two local paintball shops. One, Godfather Paintball is the shop where that^ guy works, and the other, Mid State Paintball, is much...better. Now, to explain why:

Godfather: It's run by this guy who has pretty much, according to other people who shop there who have talked to me, come across as an POOP SHOOTER since my original thread. He doesn't know as much about paintball as he should, and it's just... something about him that makes you not want to come back. I don't know. He has outrageously good prices though, and as suggested in the old thread, I should just walk in and walk out with what I bought, no questions asked.

Now for Mid State. It's run by what looks like someone out of high school, and someone else who occasionally takes over. But this guy is cool. Like, just a cool guy to hang out with. He also has all his facts straight, and taught me a lot. It's a really small business and have never seen more than one other person in the store. His prices are average, not the best. I am going to be shopping here in the future, just because this shop seems to have fewer customers than Godfather, and is closer to me.

My question is this: would you rather spend a few more dollars and shop with an awesome guy, or have lower prices and the first shop owner?

Edit: Spelling, and made my second paragraph less corny.

Edit 2: Mid State has no website, if you were wondering. Which I doubt.

I'd shop at Godfather only, and do everything else at Midstate.

I'd definitely support the better service. There are a couple paintball fields in my area. The one I go to exclusively now has higher prices. But I go because it is better run than the others. I've never left there with a bad taste in my mouth. The refs are professional and do their jobs, the paint is good, the fields are nice and well maintained. I let my money do the talking.

about how far away is godfathers? Because well if you want the lower prices you might be spending more on gas and be better off at mid-state. Now with that said I would shop at Mid-state as it seems like the stuff he has stocked would probably be more up to date with the sport and in the shop sense better maintained. Also I like to help support smaller places

I stick with whatever is cheaper.

But I would do my repair needs at Midwest, I wouldn't trust a store who's owner has no clue about paintball.

Honestly, Godfather isn't THAT Much farther away, and I'm too young to drive anyways. But I would definitely go to Mid State for repairs and questions.

If you want to have Mid State around to help you with gun and tank problems, you'd be wise to spend your money there.

I always try to shop at places that give me good service. My favorite shop is 200 and some odd miles away... granted, when I first started going there it was a handful of miles away. I've gotten excellent service, they fixed a tank of mine for free and they've been available to answer any questions that I have. I'd be very sorry, and I think the Twin Cities paintball community would suffer were that store to go out of business.
Good luck, Goldy.

I'd say go to the Godfathers for cheap stuff (that probably fell of a truck :P ) but when you need advice or you need your gun fixed, go to Mid State.

I'd say do your business at mid state. support the good stores, let the bad ones wither and die.

exactly. if the guy is a jerk and doesnt get good bussiness, he will be forced to give better service or go out of bussiness.

Well, if you truly appreciate mid-west, buy whatever you can from them. If you don't, they'll run out of business, and then what happens? You'll be STUCK at godfathers.

Support the store you like with your money. They're a business in the end, and they need it.

What, You have never been shot in the mask?

If you can afford it, I would purchase from the better quality shop, and because that will soon be the only shop in your area.
