Right due to people Not understanding the point I guess I have to tell you this.
This is not a "life sucks" this is not a "un-happy" This is a nice little piece about society as a whole. and small examples of what we all do to each other that should be changed, this isnt by any means a Communistic View.
Sorry pistol, im not "un-happy" whining. I'm making a remark about people.

Hello Fellow forum members, lurkers, stalkers, creepers, and forum ghosts.
Today I Would like to address the issue of our society.
Its completely pathetic.

Well now that I have that out of the way, im going to continue.
I wake up every day, walk to school Go through the motions of life. Listen to teachers, pretend to enjoy myself inside the class room. Pay attention to ralated rates, Calculus and various otherwise useless functions and formulas which I will never really use in life. I walk home, go to work. Come back from work and sleep. And the day repeats.
where does society come into this?

Simple really. I work every day to hopefully afford my University scholarships. But when I think about it, 8000$ a year seems like alot of money for 6 months of school And beyond that, if it really is so damn expensive does that mean we have put a price on knowledge. The very thing which will save the world from environmental hazards the Very thing to create the knowledge which can lead to the cure of cancer, the common cold. the smarts to figure out how to create a completely environment friendly world? You would think they would teach people for free, hoping with more people then more idea's would spawn.

So again you ask: "Eskimo, What in gods name does society have to do with this?"

We live in a world where Everyone tries to put another into debt. By doing so they can profit longer. The greed which is inside Every person only feeds itself with the poverty of another. Instead of building a community of people who rise up together, We have effectively Created the perfect "Dog Eat Dog" world. Except in some country's, we eat the dog.

We flourish off War, We increase revenue from the Poverty of others, We pump the world of crime while scaring those who can barely hold onto what they have. We have created self appointed Gods called Prime Ministers, Presidents, Chancellors and whatever you want to call the head of government.

I get to Wake up every day knowing that If I don't get a 90 average, If I cannot save enough money to afford university. If I don't get enough scholarship money to save for the next year to come then I wont get an "Education" I wont be titled Smart. like my brain is not good enough to figure out that A bridge made of straw wont hold a truck. as if I cant figure out that due to Extremely complex physiological means, that language and how we speak it can show other people what we really mean. I'v figured that out. If someone tells you "I'm Fine" and their eyes look like empty shells of confusion. That person has a crapload going on. language is not only words.

Now you may still be saying "Your point has nothing to do with all of us"

It does. In fact every person has to do with "All" of us. That's what "All" means doesn't it? when we say Democracy and fair rights for "All" we mean only the people who have enough money to afford everything they want. The money and power to Vote fairly and what as the "Common Good" helps everyone.
I get to listen to the news about how in the next fifteen years our world is going to be plagued with problems. And yet What are the self appointed Gods doing? Other then telling Noah to build a ark for himself, with the money he doesn't have. Because now wood, nails metal and food costs money. Noah can only afford to keep his family happy. While the rest drown. But why Blame Noah? Because he only saved his family? Or because the Fact that When noah started to build his ark he was held back. That in the time be nailed 2X4's together and sanded down the rough edges he was told. your crazy, stupid. Useless. A waste. your doing nothing.

Now I can hear you saying in the back "You sir, Are insane"
But before You leave, It was not the big men at the top telling Noah he was generally pathetic and useless for building a ark rather then living on a debt sheet wondering how to save enough money to make his wife happy for Christmas, or skipping on lunch at work to save a few bucks for a big steak with his son to make him appreciate Noah's Sacrifice.
It was Us who say those things. Out of all the problems I get to watch unfold time and time again its the big group of "The people" you know, when someone stands on a stool and yells "My People! No longer shall we suffer!" when one man tries to make a difference for the good, When one person decides enough is enough. It's his own people that turn on him.

That's whats pathetic. How your very neighbor would stone you to death for asking for change. How we turn on each other because we are so afraid of losing what we have. We are so scared that we wake up Every day, Afraid to listen and live life. Because its a crap-hole. its filled with people who would rather sleep until they find a "happiness" which more then often is having a loving family, waking up knowing your safe. holding their little princess in the arms and telling their son that they are in fact ladies, not girls, not whores. Not sluts or any other term.

But happiness is everywhere. its inside All of us to show another. Why can't we?
Love is the single greatest thing in the world. Evey thing that is good comes from pure love. And we as a society are to afraid to open ourselves up. because we know that someone will steal what we offer and tax it just so we can get half of it back.

I watch old men work hard to keep their family's ahead. I get to see Kids walk into collage and university and leave with 20,000 in Debt. Work to pay off the debt and work more to survive. I get to watch people yell and fight each other, I get to watch kids, and Adults make fun of each other. The action of Hate breeds War, Racism, Genocide, Ignorance, and Greed. ( If you don't have anything nice to say, Don't say it)

I listen to the news, Canada is reaching the point where if we Do not let massive amounts of people into our country, the rate in which Canadians die and reproduce would cut Canada's population by 75% within 3 generations. 40 million dropped to 10 million. Because our society is at a breaking point. A fail point. We as Canadians kill ourselves be rejecting the people around us. so we immigrate to keep up.

I am convinced that Our world. our society will spiral, it will fall. It will crumble and burn way, And when you wake up thanking a unknown reason why you get to open your eyes, When you watch the entire world burn. Then you will understand that stones must not be thrown. That the little things we learn in our childhood worlds is what matters, Share what you have. Put things back where you put them. Make friends. Say please and thank you. Even the little caterpillar is important to you.

Resources, The Environment, Hated against others, courtesy, that little caterpillar. This needs to change.
I dont want to see our world burn.
I dont want to see people kill people.
I dont Want to know the Girl I could have loved I never met because she was deemed to un-educated to learn. As only Educated people get 95's not 75's
I dont want to see my dad struggle to work knowing it does nothing.
I dont want to be stuck inside to life a "life" pre-determined by millions of people infront of me.
I dont want to Run, I dont want to hide.

I Want to Face the problems in my world and make a difference. But I can't do it alone. Im scared of the people around me. Im afraid that If I get up I will be mocked. I will be tared and feathered. I will be removed from "All" And that the ones around me will reject me.

I Wake up every day and move through the motions of life. But I Know that inside of me, its life that moves to the motions of us.

Thank you if you read this entire thing.
Austin.

People help each other all the time. But you can't run a society on good intentions.

The first . . . oh . . . 40 seconds of this changed my outlook many moons ago. I now feel the need to share this wisdom with others.

To support MaDuce: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."

That being said, I blame the lawyers. No offense to them but we've (USA) such a sue happy (litigeous) country that "no good deed goes unpunished."

For example. I am a plumber. I go into a house in the middle of the night for a flooded basement caused by faulty sump pump. He wants it replaced. I look at it and find that the breaker has tripped, go and reset the breaker and wish the guy a pleasant night. Save him $150.00. The next week, the pump stops working again, same problem, basement floods. Because I didn't replace the pump, I could be sued. Even if the breaker is faulty, because I didn't do what the customer asked I can be sued. Hence when any plumber fixes a faucet, they are wise to replace everything they can and charge for all of it because they don't know when, if they don't, it'll come back to bite them.

If, however, you're working at a buddies house, the statement, this is what I'd do at my house, is usually enough reassurance to do only what you must. Hence, I don't charge my buddies. No bill, no lawsuit. :D

I don't run, I don't hide, and I don't wake up afraid of the people around me, and I fly jets. You're not paralyzed by society -- you're paralyzed by your fear. That's what you need to change, not society. A great man once said, "The power.... is YOURS." Stop worrying and start doing.

I empathize with you greatly. But just naturally and ethically speaking, there will always be the one bad apple in the barrel. It makes me sad to think that we as a race are such ravenous mongers for wealth and power over our peers.

If Canada needs people, I can think of more than a few Americans we could send up there.

Seriously...
Life isn't without hope. It just depends on what you put your hope in. The world isn't perfect & hasn't been for quite a few years - since Adam ate of the fruit. That's not to say that there aren't good people doing great things, but if you expect your fellow man to do right by you, you'll be disappointed... often. We are inherently a selfish breed, not all, but most. Finding true hope is knowing that we alone can't do anything to "change the world" but we need help from someone far greater than ourselves.

So the question is, are you really asking your fellow man to help you change the world? Because you'll be disappointed... often.

You always see what you want to see and your observations are a reflecting of you.

Life to me seems so simple. As long as I'm learning, I feel that everything is going to be ok. I continue to challenge my self, taking larger risks, and moving forward. Though I do believe that society itself is jacked up, all I can work with is that which is in my power to change and inspire. I'm as big as I want to be and as small as I choose. I learn everyday to be more accountable for what I have made of myself as and work to improve with zero guilt by having zero attachment.

To change society I have to change myself. Be open, loving, forgiving, inspiring, etc... and eventually it will change. it's starts with me, and it starts with you. Do something about it... are you?

Make sense Eskimo?

Ger and BB get awards for best responses.
But I do agree with "You always see what you want to see and your observations are a reflecting of you."
Goes with the innocent I, -> the person always figures their the right ones.

And by no means Im a perfect, gosh no.
But Ger got it,
Im asking for a somebody to help me out. And Im tired of being let down.

and good call for making the biblical reference, although I myself Im no catholic. I just used Noah as the guy who decided to do something about the flood.

Stopped reading before the halfway point simply because you stated "does this mean we can put a price on knowledge" and no that has nothing to do with paying for college. Are you saying you cannot learn from your peers? Or go to a local library? Did the first philosopher go to college? No you are paying for a peice of paper saying that you know alot about a certain thing. Sadly society has been doing the same thing since the dawn of man, the only difference now is that we all have the ability to voice our opinion now. That means that groups like Mothers of America, PETA, etc... all have their voice in the equation too. But if you want higher education i.e. your college to be free maybe you'd like to go back to a strict caste system, but in that scenario you probably wouldn't even be renowned enough to go. Anyways no society has risen to the top and stayed there, and none probably will it's all part of how it works.

The reason it costs money to go to a university to learn is because it costs money to run a university! They can't just make it free, Mr. Marx.
