I know some people considering beginning a paintball field which consists of:

*Roughly 25 wooded acres (Divided into two fields)
*Roughly 25 acres of field for speedball

We'd like to know what it would cost to run this as a paintball location, how much profit one would make, and what would be needed to run a large-scale scenarioball game every few months or so. Also, anything that I forgot to mention, or any other tips, would be welcome. Thanks.

Profit depends on how much entrance is, how much your selling paint for, is it byop or field paint only, how much it costs to fill tanks so its hard to give an accurate estimate as to how much you might make.

most field's will have free HPA and then something like 4$ for a C02 fill.
and have it Field paint only.

If you run BYOP generally most field's will have an "air pass" ( 10$ gets you free HPA all day)
and they will have a small BYOP fee. such as 35$ plus 10$ for a pass and your free to play untill your paint supply runs out.

paintball field do not make lots of profit. most of the profit goes directly into making the field better.
paintball fields that do make alot of profite have 150$ cases of paint.

for a large scale game. you need money and time.
you need to set up teams, order the cases of paint. make sure you have lots of C02 and HPA
make sure netting and field borders are created. make sure the fieild is safe, get people. organise have guys ready to ref. organise lunch break.s and crap like that.

$10-$15 for all day Co2/HPA

$10-$15 for BYOP

Sell paintballs and have rentals.

The top 2 things you need to consider when starting a comercial field are insurance, and if the local goverment will allow the property to be zoned for paintball. Here where i live it is very hard to get property zoned for a comercial paintball field. You also have to consider location. How far are you from a main road? You need to ask yourself questions like that before you comit. The field i play at all the time is just down the road from an amusment park. On days the park is closed and there open they get alot of walk on players that would of never known they where if they wernt going to the park. I cant stress enough though before you plan the perfect field check to see if the property can be zoned for it and then check on pricing for insurance in your area.

If its just going to be a small rec ball field with a few huts and little bunkers then you won't make that much. To make money in paintball you have to have a field this is like no other, like OK d-day, EMR, or Bigfoot.

Ask the local players first if they would even consider playing there. Don't hire little punk jerks that pay no attention to the customers. Have a nice clean store and upkeep the field. Take comments on what should be diffirent. On and on.
