I got my phantom about a month ago and only used it once (AMAZING, btw) and i got a ghost ring sight today and decided to test it out in the back yard. Took three shots and got three breaks, turns out i still had a detent ring in there that was much too small for the paint I used.

Anyway, when I clean it and put it back together the body and valve (this is a VSC) don't meet as snug as they did. I took it apart and put it back together while pressing the body hard against the valve, and yet after pumping a few times it goes back to a gap.

Mind you, this gap is very small (almost a mm... maybe). Would this cause gas to leak out? or is this normal?

I didn't try to shoot it again, as im out of 12 grams >.<

Lol, ok thanks. Like I said, I got it a month ago and only used it once. Didn't remember if there was a gap there so I though maybe i had done something to it :panzer:

If you're talking about the visible gap you can see on my son's phantom then it's not a problem at all.

Yeah, I think the people who assemble them at CCI are magical, because I've never been able to get rid of said "gap"

Even if you're out of 12 grams you can still use a small co2 tank (provided you have some spare co2) and put the whole gun underwater (crazy I know) and if you see any bubbles than you know it's leaking, but if there are no bubbles your fine.

Make sure you dry the gun though.

And if you have a plain black pump handle, not the acrylic ones, take it off before you do that and make sure the pump arm is dry, cause it will swell. Not a lot, but enough to make your life a little more difficult when trying to screw the pump handle back on.

Though that gap is fine. The only problem a gap there will cause is the inability to cock the marker, but only with a Big gap.

I'm back from a long long long time of no paintball, drooling over markers older then I am.

Like most said, it's normal. My Phantom does it, and it doesn't leak.

If you are using 12 grams the gap is just caused by the 12 gram being a little longer than the bucket, no problem.

I don't think he is talking about the changer, I think it's about the Back part of the body.
