Radios are probably better than hand signals though.

radios are better for communication over long distances

however when you need stealth moving up hand signals are way better casue tlaking into a mic casues sound by: Talking, your radio beeping if you dont turn the incoming off, adn the voices comeing form peoples ear pieces if its not a in ear type.

our team uses the J T proteus masks and we bought the comm system that attaches to them but their loud so we try to keep radio chatter down ojn them

but using a combo works really good,

BUT if your going to be a descent team you need to have at least some basic hand signals down.

I run point for my team, casue i have the best eyes their pretty too, and using quick hand signals to get my team down to whetre the enemy dosent spot us, especially when your within about 200 ft of their base, talking into radios would get us heard which means youll get spotted.

If you don't know anyone else on your team outside of pb, then I'd suggest getting together, hanging out, doing things that don't involve pb. Get to be friends as well as teammates. My team had issues at first until I did this. As I've posted elsewhere on here, I'm the link that binds the AVENGERS. Noone else knew anyone but they all knew me. They perform closer to what I demand now that they're all friends. The emotional connections make them take care of one another on the field. Remember, it's hard to work effectively with someone if you don't know/like them.
Heck take 'em out for pizza (or a beer if you're of age) after the first practice. Encourage them to make friends with one another.
And as others've stated, drills, scrimage and more drills.
The more you understand your men's strengths and weaknesses, the more effectively you'll be able to lead them.

Yes, I found that friends make the best teammates. Trust and respect are verry important.
Play hard, Practice hard, and most of all kick butt!

Friends survive the tough times much better than simply teammates.

Also my on going suggestion, after you get eliminated, hang out on the field marker up and watch your team. It gives you a great chance to see what is going on and make improvements.
Paintball is a game. Win or lose you still need to wash your camo. Winners just use less soap.

Well the first order of business should be to play some paintball. You should recognise who your power players are. Then talking to each person about what position should they play. Then Get to know everybody. And play some more games. Don't start training until you know who is dedicated and who is not my team has had a lot of problems with that i got about 7 hardcore player and about 4 others that aren't it really important to know who is and who isn't.
