There are many types of phonetics. The ones used hear are military. I listen to the police on the scanner and they use different ones. So do pilots.

I hear some of the commercial pilots use some odd phonetics, not fighter pilots.
I hear the MDK is a cairforce I mean Airforce pilot who was recently commissioned so he probably knows whats up to date.
