On my flight back home yesterday, I picked up a Paintball Sports mag (side note, first time ive read it, and a great magazine). Flip it over... and lo and behold, its a sexy, sexy purple marker. But ive never heard of it or the company before... maybe im stupid and looking in the wrong place, idk. came home and did some searching but couldnt find much. the website is funky and im having trouble viewing it, and pbreview only has two reviews... but both are 10's. someone feel like filling me in? pros? cons? price? ever shot it?

DLX is essentially (although they'll deny it until they're blue in the face) the high-end division of SP. The Luxe is a spool design (Shocker-like) with several new features, including a speaking board and quickly removable detents, eyes and bolt. It also has an air-through grip. It retails for 1600 if I remember.

I saw several at the SPPL Finals in Georgia. Very nice markers, shoot very nicely, and well balanced/designed. I wouldn't pay that much for one, simply because the price is high for several features that I don't particularly need. Although I'd be tempted to hack and reprogram the board to shout out insults and such.. Monty Python and all that.

DLX is a sister company of Smart Parts.

The Luxe was at $1500 the last time I checked... the only cool things it has IMO are a talking board (no flashing lights) and an air-through pistol grip (like the Mini.)

I don't know much about it past that, but I think it's a spoolie...

I have shot one and they shoot very nicely, and feel good in the hands. I am not a fan of the price but I will say it is one heck of a good shooting marker, compaired it to an ego I would consider it smoother, easier to clean, and more comfortable in the hands. It come down to this, if I ever find one for under 800 it will be in my gearbag for sure... In case you are wondering where and how I shot it, My field owner got one and let everyone shoot it for free  ... I personally like poppits better though because of better efficency (I like the vice the best, it is my favorite highend)...

upon much more searching, ive heard them compared to sl8r's. but totally mixed opinions on which is better... i mean, i do see the point, for 200 bucks more you might as well get something more highend..
but still, is it really THAT great that its worth about 3 decent markers combined

If you're going to get a SL8R you might as well save some money and get a Ego9. Basicaly the same thing. SL74 - Ego7, SL8R - Ego9.

I would still prefer a Geo to any of them...

Normally though I prefer a spool but Luxe's dont feel right in my hands, but on paper there's not much to complain about. I don;t think you can really go wrogn with either though.

SL8R's pretty much are ego9's but, they look better and they also have a better resale value than then ego9. I think the SL8R is your best bet if you like poppit, also keep the vice in mind :D ...

haha, im way too poor for anything at the moment... just, the luxe is one sexy looking gun. and i was curious about it. and had also never heard about the sl8r which is the only thing anyone compared it too. imo egos/eteks are akward to hold. idk, they feel heavier than stuff thats actually the same weight. dunno how to explain it. and it sucks, cause i LOVE how they look

Really, I find egos very comfy. I just dont want one because everyone at my field uses one and I like being different. I want a E-mag but those are a bit too pricy unless I can find someone that wants too do a trade plus cash. I also have recently fallen for the Vice, marq, amd pm8... I just am getting into speedball more and more and using a pump isn't always the best way to do it...

Lies!

For that price I'd save $400 more for a Carter Duck. No talking but at least there's peace of mind :D

The sl8r is different form the 09 as the 09 doesn't use qevs. I would prefer the sl8r over the 09 because the sl8r will still hold its value after a few years(somewhat). The luxe(luxury) is what its name is, it is a sick gun. I love it, it is on par with the sl8r. I have shot every line of egos to ever come out, all of the 06 and up of the mtrixes line and the luxe out performs them all save for eclipse, but eclipse doesn't beat them. I love them both equally the same. The only thing that would matter is which you like the feel of better. By the way smart corps was shooting the luxes at the sppl.
I want to die in my sleep like my grandfather... Not screaming and yelling like the passengers in his car..
9 out of 10 teens listen to rap. if you're one of the ones that stays true to proggressive metal/classic rock, put this in your sig.
My favorite mode on a smart parts gun is OFF!!

I'm sure everyone would prefer the better version of something but to me its not worth the money. I'd just rather wait a year on either model and watch the price drop.

nonsense. speedpump is the only way to go

still, i see what you mean. marq was the first highend/speedball gun i ever fell in love with. i was really looking at vice's for a while as well, but i think theyre ugly. just got a g3 for christmas and i love it, but its still far from top-of-the-line
