Ok, I've googled like crazy, and even called Tiberius Arms, but I can't find any confirmation about a comment my local pro shop owner said to me. I told him I was thinking of getting the t9 elite and he said he heard from a source in the company that they had a new model coming out soon.

I don't want to drop $500 when a new model may be coming out by spring. Has anyone heard anything?

I wish they would. It looks like a really nice marker.

If you're referring to the T4, it fires pepperballs quite well and allows you to load a single round into the chamber even with a full magazine attached; however, the rep told me that the difference in the design of its valve from that of the T8/T9 precludes being able to get it to operate reliably at "lower velocities safe for certain recreational activities."

Who knows....

The only thing I don't like about it is that the magazine is so damn large.

Maybe not. They have a conversion kit for their current guns to fire this round. So maybe a T8/9 with the kit already installed IS the new gun?

There's a video interview with Garry Gibson, in the show on Paintball Extravaganza at http://PigTV.net . Gary is from Perfect Circle, the company the new projectiles are from.

Tiberius will be distributing them, and selling retrofit kits that allow all of their previous models of marker to chamber the new round.

I would not at all be surprised if they come out with a lower-power version of the T4 (see info on it at the SHOT show here: http://warpig.com/paintball/technical/trad...ws/shotshow09/) for sport use with the new round, as it can already chamber it, but for now the T4 is available for law-enforcement/military purchase only.

Im not sure what the linking rules are on this forum but this here video from Tiberius featuring the First Strike Sniper Round http://www.youtube.c...h?v=gjPxA4fjK-U makes use of a Tiberius marker that appears not to be a T9, but perhaps a new marker? or one of their less lethal ones with the velocity down "for certain recreational activities."...lol? There's been a lot of speculation of this on Tiberius Forums.

Edit: at about 1:53-1:54 in the video notice how it has a magazine where a T9 does not.
