Hello,

Later this year I'll be putting together a scenario game and would like to know how to set up a good system of refs. I guess their main use is more to make sure that missions are completed corectly then to check if players are hit or not though they could do that too. Missions will be given every twenty to forty minutes, sometimes three at a time.

How many refs should I need, how should I set up up a system of command, and where can I find some?

Utilize a ref in play system. Find trustworthy players and let them act as in game refs. When they are eliminated, they simply put on a vest, and ref for 10-15 minutes. This increases your refs, without having to put too many on payroll. You will need some real refs too, of course.

PM me if you want some more details.

Findig rfs is going to vary based on your locale, but the main advice I can give is three things: Radios, Radios, and more Radios. Have them constantly chatting with each other and in contact with you at all times. Make sure they are supplied well with hole punches, towels, squeeges, or whatever else they need

You should use your most experienced refs as base refs, from there, your next most experienced should be mission refs. That way, you could ensure that some idiot who just decided to be a ref for the day doesn't get the hardcore scenario players. Use your bottom ring of refs to just do regular field checks and such.

Wow, I would have never thought of that, but that is a really good idea.

A mini-med kit might be added to LoAmistead's list. I know I've been hurt ballin a couple times and one woulda been handy.
