I weep every time I read that. I'm surprised I haven't posted in here yet, this is my fourth time reading it.
Every time somebody shoots at someone who isn't wearing a mask, someone drowns a sack of puppies.
Every time somebody purposely overshoots someone, a dolphin is harpooned and eaten alive.
Every time somebody wipes, a family of bunnies gets run over by a Steamroller. That's why they have to reproduce so fast. Theoretically, that's how dinosaurs became extinct.

I play woodsball and speedball, and all I can say is, I agree with you 100 %. There are always people at the speedball field that will make insults about wearing camo or a woodsball mask to a speedball field. But at the woodsball course, nobody has ever laughed at me for having a tourney marker, and nobody ever makes jokes about somebody when they make a mistake.

Many speedballers say: The only people that play woodsball are the ones that have never tried speedball, or aren't good at it.

Yeah, since speedball is so hard and woodsball is so easy, right? Wrong! Woodsball requires more than just a fancy marker and a big ego (not the gun, lol). It involves brains, endurance, common sense, quick thinking, and that aquired skill of using the surrounding enviroment for cover, protection, or to "disappear", only to reappear twenty yards left of your attacker and pop him in the head with a single paintball.

Who is the guy on here with the sig that says: Wow he missed me twenty three times that last second!
Its funny, but its also very true.

the problem is, each of us has our own style of play, our own tendencies and preferences. as such, you'll find people who'll agree on style of play, and people who won't. i prefer woodsball to speedball, but that's because i'm the depraved lunatic who actually likes crawling 100 yards through the mud to reach a target, taking one shot, then crawling through more mud to do it again. you can't do that in speedball, but hey, playing point in speedball is really fun, too. the adrenaline rush in woodsball (having a few shots fly by your mask with no clue where they're coming from) is different from the rush you get in speedball, where i've had 30 rounds whizz by my face so fast i checked to make sure none of them actually hit me, because there was no way i would've felt just one. some of us can afford to pound paint into a bunker (and not just speedballers-some woodsball players hammer 30-40 shots at a guy in a few seconds, too), some of us can't (one shot one elimination isn't just a mantra when you start the day with just 200 rounds). yes, the game is competitive, but remember, it's a game, no matter how many newspaper articles call paintballs "rounds" and markers "guns"; ask any current or former soldier who's seen action, they'll tell you it's incredibly different. yes, the tactics can be and often are the same, but no one's life is on the line in a game of paintball. so let's lighten up, and realize that the only real requirement of a paintballer is that they play fair and safe, doesn't matter if they use an old Nelspot or a Shocker.

this says it all, though, judging from the past 2 years of posts. then again, most people here probably read The Whiteboard already. if you don't, pick it up-it's well worth the read.

Yeah i guess that's true.. individual people have individual styles; some are born speedballers, some are woodsballers, (and some don't need to touch a paintball gun lol  ). I guess I am kind of stereotyping, but I'm just saying that from my experience at both woodsball and speedball fields, the average woodsballer is a more down-to-earth use-what-you-have kinda guy. I do like speedball, but I would choose woodsball over speedball any day.
As mentioned before, many speedballers make fun of woodsballers; this thread is just a chance for us to state our opinion. Trying out both sports (yes, woodsball and speedball are two totally seperate games) is important for learning about paintball as a whole.
