Attention Viking Owners technical issue involving consistency
Posted 07 March 2009 - 10:07 AM
Last season (and this winter as well), I was noticing some horrible chrono results consistency wise (from 230 to 280, with draxxus field paint. Most of the shots were near 240 or near 270, but I included max/min figures for sake of discussion). I think the sidewinder reg may be in need of some care, as the gun has been oiled with AKA or Palmer's oil (both of which are listed in the manual as acceptable) after every day of use.
I'm going to run a few more tests during the next week/week and a half or so, but I figured I'd like to see some recommendations from other AKA owners. Have you ever seen such horrible consistency from a Viking (or any other AKA product) and how did you solve it?
I'd rather not send it in to Destructive Customs, but I suppose I will if needed. I'm already sending my other semi (TM7) to Paintball Solutions as soon as I get the shipping label in the mail because it's simply not working correctly at all, and I would rather have a semi on hand for March 21st (first real paintball event in MN).

But the rebuild is very simple, as long as you have a wide crescent wrench and something to grip the threads on the core without damaging it. And the rebuild manual is available online... forget where.
