A professor in Connecticut reported one of her students to the police after he gave a class presentation on why students and teachers should be allowed to carry concealed weapons on campus. Now, free speech activists say the professor's actions are what really need to be investigated.

No link, but it would not surprise me at all.

Professors, by and large, despise private firearm ownership just like many "elitists" out there do (our president, a lot of the congress and senate, media, etc)

Don't give me an exception to the rule from personal experience, fact is my point is true as a whole (which is what I said, never said ALL professors)

Free speech...who needs it, right?

I mean, free speech is sooooo overrated. Especially in the classroom. You see it interferes with the teacher's ability to teach you the correct beliefs. I mean, if you're challenged on various aspects of your argument, you have to go through all the trouble of actually backing that argument up with facts and experience. And who needs that? To streamline the teaching experience, and general public discourse, AND to prevent the spread of wrong headed ideas, we need a set commission of very knowledgeable and learned men and women to inform us of the right ideas. Since this commission will be so lauded and so learned, I really see no reason for the 1st Amendment to have as big a part in civil society as it currently does.

Who agrees with me?

I made a speech last semester on how CCW permit holders should be allowed to carry on campus. The TA tried to dissect and tear apart my speech in the attempt to make me appear stupid. At the end of it all she asked for a show of hands on who thinks my idea should be implemented... In a class of 37, all but 4 raised their hands.

Yeah. It's only a simple topic of discussion. People are throwing the subject completely out of proportion. I mean, guns are not a pandemic. Guns don't make decisions to shoot people. They are tools to be respected. The presence of a firearm means absolutely nothing. The only time the firearm becomes important is when it is fired.
