You could possibly do this:

For sight rail get some scope mount rings, or a taclight for barrel mounting then drill out a piece of metal like a doughnut to take up the space.and cut it in half (if you can't slide it in or want a tighter fit) into two "C" shaped pieces. The material that was removed should be just enough to get a snug fit.

you could use hose clamps. they are cheap, and you dont have to take anything from your dads guns. if you were my kid and took something off of my gun, i balst you one with it to teach ya a lesson.

Do you have a picture of your laser? It'd help as well as the diameter of the tube of the laser (from one side to the other side accross the face/circle)

The best way to mount it would be to put a rail of some type on your gun wherever you wanted the laser and to use the above method of using a scope ring. Don't get grounded or worse by taking something off your dads rifle. If he's a rifle man, he'll have spares, or be able to get one cheaply and easily.

If the laser doesn't fit snugly in the scope ring, and it's only off by a little, wrap a couple wraps of electrical tape around the laser and insert it in the ring. If it's off by more than a couple wraps of tape worth, get a small piece of PVC or simular material and cut it to fit. Ask your dad to help... if he's a rifle man type guy, he'll enjoy helping you mount your laser.

If you need further help/advice, post up here man... good luck with it, and let us know how it goes.
