So I tried searching, but couldn't find much... so ill ask it here.

Will X7 stocks fit an A5? The mounting looks the same, but I want to be sure. There are some decently priced X7 and A5 stocks on amazon, BUT I has an A5...and some of the X7 ones are better priced and different design.

I want to go for a folding stock, so i can have a smaller gun when needed. Currently i have a flatline and no stock.

thanks for the help!

Nope X7 and A5 stocks are incompatible. Totally bs. If you ask me it's pretty obvious they did this on purpose just to resell people a bunch of parts that they already have for their A-5.

I mean seriously, they're basically the same gun, almost identical except supposedly a few upgrades on the X7. They even have essentially all the same bolts in all the same places. Just SLIGHTLY different allignments and shapes so it just happens that even though everything for the A5 would work perfectly fine on the X7 none of it quite fits?

HAHA figures...

But from a marketing standpoint...think about it. They make more profit that way. When i saw the X7 come out, i thought 1 thing... SWEEEET! A5's just went down in price!!

The A5 is a beautiful marker, sure the X7 is great, but I'm the kind of guy who loves to pwn people with a gun that is 1/2-1/3 the cost. I love when i'm casually chatting about paintball and some random guy says, "yeah i had an angel, i spent like $1,500 on it" and im thinking, what a moron, i would rather get 3-4 A5's totally modded out over a $1,500 angel. I mean sure some will argue that it shoot a 1/2BPS faster than the $1,300 model (sarcasm), but who cares! unless you play pro speedball, a simple 5-10 bps is all you need for recreational play, which is what MOST people do. So no flaming me for hating on the expensive stuffz!

But thanks, i can narrow down the stocks i want for this A5 i bought... I grabbed it used off craigslist for $130. Not bad, flatline, egrip, gun. No hopper or stock, but I wanted the lower profile hopper anyway.

Im looking at getting the folding "wire style" heres a link: Folding A5 stock

so next question, the x7 hopper DOES fit the A5 cyclone right? if i have to electrical tape the damn thing i will :)

Yes, the "low profile" hopper on the x7 will fit the a5 cyclone feed.

thanks Eagle.

I thought they did, just wanted to make sure. I will probably just buy the hopper at the local field, since its only a few bucks. No point in orering online to save $2-3

You make the mistake of assuming I give a f*ck about Tippmann's profit margine. As far as I'm concerned so long as they make enough to stay in business, they make enough. They don't need to rip us off by intentionally designing incompatibility into their products so that they can make a little more so some a-hole that owns or invests in the company that owns Tippmann can drive a slightly faster car and live in a slightly larger house.

Honestly look at all the loyalty Tippmann gets from it's customers. On this site most people bad mouth Tippmanns because they don't require batteries or shoot 40bps for no appearent reason. And none the less most if not a lot of people on this forum own a PILE of tippmanns themselves haha! We buy up every piece of junk they release by the boatload.

And what's our thanks?

New stuff that's intentionally designed to be incompatible with the old stuff even though the new design is almost identical to the old one? So that if I have an old A-5 that I've invested several hundred dollars in in the form of let's say a stock, a flatline, an RIS, after market grips and other accessories, etc. And I want a new gun so I go blow another $300 on the X7, and I want to run my clasic setup on my new gun: I get the wonderful gift from Tippmann of having to go and RE-BUY all the same parts I already have for the A5, over again at higher prices for the X7?

That's good stuff.

Or conversely, if I have an old A-5 with an old setup, then a bunch of cool new stuff comes out for the X7 which I would love to run on my classic A-5 I get to go out and buy a brand new X7 that I don't need because it's the only way I can have that X7 stock at all.

Mmmm... mmm, that feels good.

Haha! I'll put up a video when I get my mag kit! Just been told by RAP4 that I have to wait ANOTHER WEEEEEEKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!

Two weeks ago they tell me, "You'll get a tracking number the week after next."

That's today! Been watching the calender the ENTIRE TIME. E-mail them today, "Where's my tracking number?"

"You'll get it next week."

actually, i think it stood for Ben Tippmann, which was Tippmann's son? But Tippmann was trademarked, so BT was switched to Battle Tested

Is BT better than Tippmann? I liked the Tippmann guns better myself...
