Maybe push it towards the marker before pulling back the sleeve? When connecting, pull the sleeve back before trying to put it on the marker.

But, it shouldn't be like that...

Maybe you could file down the ridge of your nipple just a smidge.

If youre going the File the Nipple....do not file too much, because there is always a possibility of a Leak.

Have you checked to make sure one of the Ball bearings in the quick disconnect has not gotten something lodged in between it and the slide sleeve or cracked or become bent, because any of these problems can make it hard to disconnect the slide sleeve from the nipple and over time if not fixed it can either become completely dislodged and either create an unfixable air leak or it will lock up for good or it can cause a pressure build up which will ultimatley lead to a rupture and possible explosion which will more than likely harm you and your gun or someone else. I used to work as a mechanic and machine repairman and I have seen it happen, but with me being an EMT now I have seen the worse things it can do like cause death or complete and total paralysis.
