What I mean is, I used to be all over this site When I was first starting to play paintball in high school. I got so much good information and it really helped better my game play. I went to college for a year, then decided I needed a way to pay for it, so I joined the military. Here I am almost 4 years in the service and I visit this site and read posts, then I go to hit that reply button and realize, the post I am reading is from 2008...2007...etc. :(. Just wondering if I am not the only one :).

I guess what I am saying is that deploying really puts you in a time warp...I have been assigned to my ship ( I am US Navy) for about 2.5 years now. Of that, I did a 3 month cruise, 6.5 month cruise, 1.5 month, and a 5.75 month cruise, not to include the various 1-3 week "workups" in between all of that. So for me I go out there and its almost like I forget that time still moves forward back home. I guess its that Astra-naught effect. I know you service guys know what I am talking about. Especially the Army/marines that do 1-1.5+ year deployments.

SO! what's new with paintball huh? I just went and played yesterday out in Escondido, CA. My first game since deployment. I dusted off my A-5 and kicked some butt.

I have no idea why I am writing this, oh yeah, because I am stuck on duty and I'm bored :).

Insert closing statement here... >_<

Nope, your not the only one. I've posted on old threads before :) but thats because I was bored.

And its nice to have you back. As you have most licky noticed, a lot of people have left this forum...or just stopped showing up. We've had a few site owner changes, but other than that, most of the core people are still...but we are do not have the PBN numbers like the old days.

Yeah I figured as much. There is just so much paintball knowledge here. It's like the pyramids of paintball you know? Dormant, but teeming with information.

Yup, that's how it goes. I had a 5 month A-school that ended up being 9 months. And put it to you this way. Made E-5 in 3 years...and I am getting out. Ship's company sucks. You will see when you get to your duty station. Hopefully you won't be assigned to the ship. I don't mean to discourage you, I have just been through a lot here. I'm on the USS Carl Vinson. But, i shouldn't see another deployment for the rest of my contract :). So that's good.

You might be able to get a small ship though. Smaller ships are much more close knit communities. On a carrier you are one of the masses. Also, the smaller ship's are normally pier side at a lot of the port visits, saves A LOT of liberty time when you don't have to ride a liberty boat for an hour each way just to go see another country! keep that in mind.

Hehe its funny looking back at how everyone said "the fleet this... the fleet that..." Man if i could be a "fleet returnee" in an A-school. i would be CHILLIN!!! lol

Hey, now i feel bad, i don't remember you...grr. Have we played together? or just from the forums?

And thank you. Feels good to be home. I tell you all it's nice seeing other countries. But, know this, America is awesome. We really take our freedoms and the things we have for granted.

I hear you. I used to post here alot as well and then came another deployment, some bad mods, and got sick of it so I left. Now I'm back and it is sort of strange.

I'm still alive, if only barely. My excruciatingly busy schedule and lack of home internet access has quite effectively killed me here... :(
