Hey everybody, I'm getting a new mask soon since my K-mart mask is falling apart and I'm looking for suggestions. The max I'm going to spend is $60-$80. If anybody else has a big head like me, then your suggestions are greatly appreciated.
thanks

Go to your local shop and try on all they have. Then decide by what fits you best, is comfortable to wear, and you can see the best out of. Everyone's head and face are shaped diffrently. What fits me won't always fit you. So try them out on your own and see what YOU like best, as you will be the one wearing it. Nothing worse than dropping $80 on a mask to find out it doesn't fit right or feel good, been there, done that. Try befroe you buy

Some knock it, some love it, but I stick with my $25 Proto "Switch" It's durable, easy to pull the lens off to clean, and if you want/need a fan, they sell one for it. My G/F has a Switch with a fan, and says it doesn't really make difference (Maybe at night, when fogging is more of an issue)

Empire (Vents) Avatar is a great mask! Just like the EVents except with soft ears. But really, listen to Legato and go to your proshop. ;)

QFT

My first mask was a V-Force Morph. I tried on all the masks at the shop, including the $100 ones. The Morph was only $40 and when I put it on it was amazingly comfortable. So the lesson is exactly what Legato already said. Try before you buy.

If you're going to spend $80 bucks why not get a V-Force Grill?

That's what I would do, but I bought a proto switch for $30 and it works great.

i'd go with a profiler or proto mask, there good masks.

and i think you might be able to get a profiler cheaper than 60$ here.

As it's been written - try before you buy. But, that may not be possible for you. If not, the Grill & Game Face goggles have not fit well on larger heads from what I have read here on the forums. The Grill tends to leave the jawline exposed & the Game Face are more narrow. The Profilers on the other hand seem to fit those who complained about their Grill/Game Face. Again, this is not from personal experience as I don't own either nor do I have a big head. I will say that my Profiler is very comfortable & I have quite a bit of room for my head to gain weight :).

As brought up many times in this thread, always remember to try before you buy. But also remember that comfort isn't everything. You must also consider factors such as fog resistance, protection, and field of vision. I went with the JT Proflex, and it proved to be the greatest mask I have ever worn. With JT's incredible fog-resistant thermal lens, and being advertised as the "most comfortable mask in the world", the JT Proflex is definately a mask you will want to check out.
There's also the V-Force Profiler. On my head, they felt about the same as the Proflex, but they had a bigger lens, offering a larger field of vision. Out of the box, it will have similar fog resistance to that of the Proflex, but unfortunately, it's a single-pane lens with a heavy anti-fog coating that will eventually wear off.

Basically what everyone else said plus: don't skimp out, buy a mask with thermal lenses. My pair is going hasn't even fogged on me when playing in the winter... they're definetly the best purchase I've made. Spend that extra $25, get thermal lenses.

Cant have a Shameless Quote if they won't tell me what it is...
