Up browsing the other day, and I came across the JAE 700 RLA stocks. LOVE the way they look, and seem to be pretty decently priced compared to the competition. Good reviews with the similar G2 model for the M1A, so im guessing they are pretty quality stocks. Too bad they are all backordered though... I contacted the company, and they said it would be August to September before orders could be filled. They did however point me to AICS stocks... not a huge fan there, though.

It's a 7 pound match pipe. Should be hella consistent.

Hmm... for 7 pounds, id hope so :P I found many barrel blanks in almost every contour imaginable... my only issue would be getting them fitted to my gun. Im sure its nothing the local gunsmith couldnt handle, but still... just extra work :P

A bit of a late update but months later this entire project has taken a series of new turns. I decided on modifying an existing AR pattern rifle that I already had.. that saved a lot of money right off the bat. So far ive installed a 10" Troy Industries MRF free floated handguard and the low- profile block to make it work. Next up is a Magpul MOE grip and MBUS sights, possibly a Trijicon Reflex if I play my cards right. Any other suggestions from my long- lost forum cumminuty? It's been a while.

What is the purpose of this project?

A defensive carbine will have a different layout than a match rifle and both will differ from a hunting rig. If you'll be busting chucks from a rest, you'll want a different rifle than if you were tracking a coyote.
