Well Between an ion and a slg I would go with an slg. I think proto is amazing selling a gun so cheap. The slg should have some aftermarket stuff comming out also. I heard of new frames, boards, triggers and things like that that will be made for the slg. But picking out a marker realy depends on the shooters comfort with the gun. I recremend testing before you buy one.

For those that have said the SP1 is good...they are not lol the local field rents Vibes and SP1s and the SP1s have done nothing but break. More trouble than they are worth IMO. If you MUST have a electro and are limited to money, get a hpa tank and the new spyder RSX. It comes STOCK (yes stock) with a HATRED (or hater) board AND eyes. Also the VS series is a very good line IMO.

Now if money isnt much of a issue, go for a DM/PM 5 or 6 or a used ETEK Ego.

If you are looking for something cheap I suggest an ICD Promaster. $139 for a marker that performs like a $300 gun.

Here's my recommendation..

If you think playing pump would be your style.. definitely try that. very lightweight, can be very small, and a blast to play.

If you want to stick with CO2 and a mechanical marker, definitely pick up a used (I use that word sparingly... they work forever just like they did out of the box) classic automag.

Otherwise, go with a Smart Parts Vibe or SP1 (the vibe is smaller and lighter, but the SP1 has cool styling and rails). Great markers, very affordable, can use CO2 or air, great performance.. You can't beat them in the price range, in fact you really have to go to the $200-$250 (once you count the air tank) price range to compete with them.

Lo
