NOOOO! Share? I have 16 Grolsch style bottles... just need to give them a good wash (bought them at a thrift store, because I intend to start my own brew).

I'm doing a speech on Rums tomorrow (Cultural Informative speech). So I did a lot of... amm... "research" this weekend. Found some good ones too.

My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.

It's alright for a blended scotch.

Though any Scotsman will tell you blended scotch is not true scotch whiskey.

I've come to the conclusion that I am a stout man when it comes to beer. I tend to enjoy them more than any other kind. But I also enjoy a good Hefe every now and then.

I have been brewing my own for a little over two years, and have came to the conclusion that every beer has it's place. I love Guinness, but in the middle of summer I would rather have somthing lighter. In the fall, Shiner Bock is amazing. But winter is def Guinness season.

I am quite partial to Hefes, Witbiers, Bocks, Doppelbocks, Pale Ales, and some Lagers. Stouts are more for special occasions (read Guinness anytime anything vaguely Irish is occurring, including Irish Whisky).

I'm somewhat of a newbie to whiskey, any suggestions that are fairly inexpensive?

The easy starter is crown, and work your way around from that.

EDIT: *and if you want to go cheaper, canadian mist is owned by crown royal, it is just the stuff that didnt make the cut, and is not bad for a cheap mixer.

JW is fine to drink. If you are going for real scotch though, you're talking single malts. For a entry that won't break the bank the Macallan 12 year Old is good, as is the 10-year old Glenmorangie.

On the subject of scotches, I had a few drams of the Dalmore Gran Reserva Cigar Malt Scotch recently. Big, smoky scotch, reminded me of bourbon, but instead of vanillas and caramels it had more chocolatey notes. Too bad it's $70 a bottle. I could lose track of how much of that I was drinking.

Wisers is REALLY mild whiskey...

Gibsons isn't bad for cheap stuff. Crown is great with Coke though.

Anything relatively brown and in a glass bottle is a relatively safe bet. Avoid the plastic bottles and you'll do fine.

So, the Grocery store that I work at just became the County Liquor Store where I live, so who gets to stock the Liquor? That would be me, I foresee a lot of new Liquors heading my way...

I have one of those, it exploded and fizzed all over the place when we opened it LOL.

What I use mainly is just Anheuser Busch bottles that I re-crown. I sterilize them and everything.

One batch costs about 35 bucks and gives me around 56 bottles. So it's definitely worth it economically.

I have 2 batches in the fermenters right now, an Imperial Blonde Ale and an Irish Red Ale.

Needless to say, I give most of it away because using up a case and a half every 3 weeks would be unhealthy ;)

If you're going for American style Whiskey (aka Bourbon), just go ahead and get Wild Turkey 101 and skip that weaker stuff :P
If I had the dollars, that's almost all I'd drink. As it is, I have to settle for cheaper boubons like Evan Williams and Rebel Yell.
