THIS IS AN IMPORTANT WARNING FOR ALL CANADIAN BUYERS OF AIR/CO2 TANKS ON EBAY OR IN THE B/S/T PAINTBALL GEAR SECTION!

-I recently purchased a Smart Parts Ion Player Package off Ebay and it came with a 48/3000psi Nitro tank, Evlution III hopper, NxE tank cover, and of course, the Ion. When I took the air tank to the local field to get it filled, they said that in order for any air tank in Canada to be filled, you need to have TC (Transit Canada) registration numbers on it. If anyone is caught filling these unauthorized tanks, there is a $50,000 dollar fine. I bought mine from a U.S. dealer, so it came with a DOT number on it. You need a TC number on all tanks because Canada has different safety and inspection standards for anything dealing with compressed air or gas. This also includes propane tanks, etc. For example: The TC number on my Canadian CO2 tank is: TC-3ALM124. If you do not have a tank that has TC numbers on it, you CAN NOT get it re-stamped. This just serves as a little heads up for all Canadian members buying from here, ebay, or any foriegn dealer. I hope this gets stickied, because I don't want anyone else to go through the hassle of returning the tank, waiting for it to ship, then waiting for it to come back. This is especially important in my opinion during the buying/selling/trading or paintball gear on this forum.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldnt you just take the tank to a certified inspector, i.e. someone who would re-hydro a tank and get the TC inspection? I mean, since you are probably paying to ship this thing around anyways, take the $20 and get it tested. It would save you two weeks of waiting.

That's retarded. Are tanks bought from the US somehow more dangerous than tanks bought in Canada?

Yes, they make you invade other countries for no reason.

This sucks, I'd check with someone else about that "no re-stamp" thing.

I'll take the tank for you.

Man that sucks, but you could sell the tank, to someone, then use that money to buy a tc tank, or try to bring it to another place to get filled, they might be a slacker, and not check the numbers on it, so you would still get the fill, maybe.

that sucks big time. Im not Canadian but I can imagine this being a big problem.

It seems like canada would have a way for DOT inspected tanks to be TC inspected...

that sucks big time.
