I personally don't agree with the "get something you know you'll want to get again in 50 years" (or whatever the philosophy is) idea. Granted I've only had mine for 2 years now, but if my skin was blank I'd want all three of these right now, I just wouldn't be too fond of paying for 'em, lol. I think a tattoo should represent the way you were when you got it, if you loved it when you got it, then no matter how much you change, grow, or learn you will always remember the reason you got the tattoos that you did. I can't imagine ever looking back and regretting who I was, or what decisions I made for what reasons. Life's too short to focus on nonsense like that.

Just my two cents.

It's an old school Navy Tattoo. When old ships would sink the only things left of the wreckage sometimes would be wooden crates floating that were filled with....you guessed it, pigs and chickens. The tattoos on your feet are superstitiously supposed to prevent you from drowning. Every once in a while you'll see an old salt with the tattoos, or you'll see them painted on a sub. I gave them a cartoony/comical twist to make them my own.

History channel has a show called, Marked? Something like that...and they had a really great episode on military tattoos...I like the idea of the chicken and pig I might do something like that, except on my ankles. And I like the idea of the propellor on the buttcheeks. (so you can swim as well as float) but I dont think ill get an ass tattoo haha

Agreed.

I'm not much for tattoos. Not saying there's anything wrong w/ them, just don't have a desire to get one myself... at least not yet. But, that shoulder tat/wrap is pretty flippin' sweet.

If you're getting tribal tattoos, may I ask what tribe you are in?

If you get a butterfly tattoo are you a butterfly? If you get a "Taz" tattoo are you a cartoon? No. We're all human, and some humans like things. That is part of being human. Symbolism can go as far as just that, you like something at a time enough to get it permanently. Even if you dont like it later, you liked it at some point and it still represents a moment in time. You don't have to have a book on symbolism or have a long tale to tell to get a tattoo. Most of the time you'll get tired of telling everyone all the time anyway, and most people dont understand tattoo symbolism. I have people call the shop all the time asking if it's "cool" to get a tear drop. A lot of kids want "stoner stars" because they smoke weed but dont understand that it came from sailors and then in to the punk scene and then everywhere else. ha.
