Same as Z3RO, I do not really know. I cannot come up with a reason other than the forum keeps me focused on paintball in the mean time.

The community, there's rarely any butt holes around the smaller forums.

The technology and technique, it's one of those things that you can spend a ton of time researching or practicing and you'll never know everything about it. Plus it tends to hold my interest better than most other things.

The "Dirty Acronym?" factor when you tell certain people you play paintball. Sometimes they think you're a loony.

It's one of the only sports I'm actually good at.

It's not mainstream and even has it's own little sub cultures.

It's addictive yet retains it's enjoyment.

The thrill of it all, I just don't have as much fun playing something like hockey.

The diversity of the people who play, you have everybody from old men to ten year old children.

There's always a newb to help and educate.

You can do things you'd never be able to do anywhere else aside from video games.

Every day of play is a social event as much as a sporting/recreation event.

Most of all, I just love it.

Yeah, I love the tech, and I love using it. It just really amazes me. I'm one of those people who stare at those animations on ZDSPB for 5 minutes straight just so I can figure out how it works. Plus, I really like shooting sports, I'm good at them, and after about a month of no play, I really start to want to go out again. I have those kind of feelings for other sports like skiing, but that only happens in the winter (for me- dec, jan, feb). Plus, since I have the expensive equipment, I feel like I have to use it. Some times, I just hear a song or something like that and I think about that big game last year, or that game where I got out half the other team, or the time I gogged my friend the first time I used my Phantom. So, I keep going back, for the memories.

this just about sums up why i play, with incredible accuracy.
also my friends and i could talk about paintball experiences and stuff like that for hours. paintball has become a part of me that i just couldnt get rid of if i tried.

What keeps me playing? I really don't know. Its just a lot of fun. There are alot of things that would make me want to quit though, but I don't really care.

For me, its sitting in the staging areas after a great game has been played.
Listening to all the stories and recaps guys are giving about the amazing shot they took, or rushing the enemy lines, or about getting hit so many times... I love listening to the new people gush over the game they just played. I think it helps me recapture the love I first felt for the game.

I take a large group consisting of church members out every other month or so. For most of them its their first time playing. Its just awesome to see people enjoying the game so much, I think it keeps me enthused enough to put up with the bonehead wipers I play with at other times.

Okay so people will go in and out of sports due to seasons and loss/gain of interest. so here's my question, what keeps you interested and psyched about paintball?

for me it's: the rush, the kill, and the deal (great deals that people sell there stuff for, I find so much joy in buying awesome deals)

and in the same way seeing the joy of guys when they kill me, or when they play for the first time, or when I sell them an awesome deal just keeps me going. I love this sport....

So what's your reason(s)?

I play because it's fun, and because I actually like it and do fairly well at it, unlike other sports. It's either that or video games, and paintball has more of a rush than video games.

Getting out with good friends and then getting to shoot some of them :D .

Paintball is what I make my ideas and projects revolve around. If I did not have paintball, I'd probably do destructive testing, Off-roading, custom karts, and other extreme things. Paintball, as long as I build my toys to be safe, I can use them in paintball against a target who is using strategy and other toys against me, makes it so much more fun.

i love the rush. i also love when u go against some one who will play the game right and respectfully. like me i like to go after the biggest threat to me at playing at the time. to make it more fun. either thou i might lose but i know im actually trying to have fun. that i also like to pick one guy out of the group and kinda have a side competition with. like how many times i get u than u get me stuff like that. i love that u can talk storys of paintballing together and both know what u mean. that also helps take the stress down

I love paintball because I have always been in paintball. I was 11 when I started playing in the woods behind my house with my father and I have watched the sport grow and mature into what it is today. I have seen people come and go and I still am watching people get in the sport and others fall away. I have seen 4 stores open and 3 of them close. Paintball is one of those things like skating or surfing, It's not so much a sport as it is a life style. If you are truly into paintball you eat sleep and breath paintball. Your clothes are paintball related and you are always looking for that next game or match.

One thing that I wish paintballers could get past the whole speedball woodsball divide that separates us. I love paintball and always will. Paintball will always be a part of my life whether I am playing or fixing markers I will always be a part of the game.

If you play your own game of paintball using Spec ops as guidelines and not as "law of position", put this in your sig.

I play because of my husband. It's his favorite hobby and I can share it with him. That... and it's fun to shoot him.
