Masks > thermal, antifog glaze

Drop, rail, ASA, manifolds, regulator/expansion chamber (with the air source review)

spoolie/poppet ( you could go into balanced, blowback, etc. depending on how deep you want to go)

Safety - chrony, freeballing, deadman walk, barrel plugs.

What to bring to the field - paper towel, spray bottle, basic tools, o-rings, copy of manual for marker.

So many things to cover.

I am assuming you are giving the class to a group that knows nothing about the sport.

First things first is cover safety. Let them know that every sport has safety equipment and just like every other sport paintball is completely safe as long as the equipment is used.

the CO2 101 and the HPA 101 is also a good thing to cover. A lot of newer players do not realize the differance. Yesterday I had a lot of players asking me why some of the tanks had a nipple on them. Also several players were amazed that tanks were getting filled while still on the marker.

Safety - shoot a raw egg at 30 feet as a visual aid.
Sportsmanship, honor, integrity and FAIR PLAY.
Getting to know their gear (manuals and maintenance).
Myths and debunking them (the longest barrels are best for sniping, etc.)
Tactics during game-play.

Out of curiosity, what is the class for?
You could cover tactics, cleaning, safety, pretty much what everyone already said. Oh, camoflauge and concealment and the difference between cover and concealment

Teach them some basics, let them play, them come in and teach them some more. If you keep them in the classroom for more than about 30 minutes you are going to lose them. But if you teach basic safety and some tactics then let them play and see it in action they will respond to the teaching. Even if all you are doing is shooting at targets it will get and keep their attention. Build on everything little by little. The students will remember things better if you teach it bit by bit, then have them perform whatever it is that you want them to do with you giving a positive critque.

This is very important.

Be someone that they want to please. Not super happy nice guy, but friendly, professional, and encouraging.

Be big on Game time safety.
Paint-checks, what is too close, excessive shooting, call yourself out on hit, mask and marker problems in the field.

I'm finding that beginners don't know these things.

Sounds like you already have a good plan. Cover some PB history too, thats always cool.

Tell them its a sport of responsibility and trust. :excl:
