Period of
Product Use: 6 months

Similar
Products Used:
Facefull-Much Better
PGI-Better
PB2X-Better
Splat-Better

Product Year: 2005

Strengths: Lets you see whats for sale in paintball
Good if yourre new to paintball

Weaknesses: -See main body

Review: This magazine is good for the first 2-3 months that you play paintball. After that its trash. The cons-

Ads-It has SO MANY ADS. These are useful only to let you know whats for sale in the paintball world.

Pro Coverage- It has 2-3 pages of PSP and NPPL coverage with the results not in charts, but crammed next to a ad.It also covers a South American paintball circuit. Hello! were in America!

More ads-It has more ads. Heck they advertise their own magazine in their magazine!

Bad captions-The picture captions are GARBAGE. Splat's captions are funnier and Facefulls pics dont need captions. They are stuff like "Paintball is fun for everyone!" DUH! and "Tippmann young gun in stealth mode" Cmon!

Bad articles-Many of the articles have no point.

Reused Pics-They re-use so many pics. They are all of people in Skrimish USA Rental camo and masks, and their rental 98's. You often think youve seen the same people twice.

Cheap giveways- they give away a Brass Eagle Triton or a Bonez LCD. Cmon a Brass Eagle?!

Ads- I frogot to mention more ads!

Bad Reviews- They review products and dont say anything bad about them. Nothings perfect.......

Bad "Pro" Tips- Their "Pro" tips are just stupid. Stuff like "Always wear your goggles" DUH! "Always use a BBD" DUH! And my 2 favorites- "Dont put 4500PSI into a 3000PSI Tank" DUH it turns it into a bomb! and "Make sure you keep the eye on your electronic hopper clean" DUH! Those arent pro tips!

Weak paper-Its printed on very weak, thin paper. Tears easily.

Conclusion: This is only good for beginners. Other than that stay away.

Rating: 4 out of 10

First of all, it's not for begginers, it has more woods in it than really any other mag you can buy at walmart or grocery stores, etc.

Although, I think APG pretty good, I got a sub. to it.

PB2x and Splat is worse, it's like pbnation, you can't understande a thing in it.

PGI has got to be the best.

And that's kinda spam(what I just posted) isn't it.

APG is geared more toward new players then any other paintball mag out there. But the writers try to keep the contents varied, for example, I remember they reviewed a Brass Eagle, Tippmann and an Alien Remains in one issue.
"Its very hard to grasp the idea at first but once you accept it, it makes A LOT of sense!" -- Minnesota Sn1p3r on conspiracy theories
"Everyone instantly jumps the conclusion that the government is out to get us." -- SWAT SAINT
"Bad Duce, bad." -- Ace-014
"Good man, Duce, good man." -- Tryon
"Also accepting female snipers." -- Lt.Col.Vortex

APG has more rounded coverage and better editing the PB2X. I've flipped through some of the articles in that a wonder when they started buying articles from Fifth Graders. APG isn't perfect, the South American stuff is REALLY annoying. If they want to cover South American events fine, then make one for South America. APG might have more adds but its also fuller the PB2X but they're coverages could expand abit, then again its not really a hard core tourny magazine. I like it.
Also don't use Splat for anything other then comical relief. They have 0 creditablity, most of their pictures are photoshoped and the writing is god awful.
Face Full is good, everything Face Full does is right hence the bi-monthly and higher shell prices.

I like APG for the amount of Woodsball articles that they carry. I'm not a big fan of speedball and a lot of the other magazines have too much speedball for my taste (not knocking speedball). Its a nice balance and I have had a subscription for a couple of years now.

The Ads can be blamed on the company wanting the Ad. A new ad is going to cost more money.

I think that i would like to see more reviews on wodsball gear though. Most of the review is on speedball markers, which is fine, but I am not really into speedball that much.

Also, I think the Ads need to be geared more towards paintball and not some nearly naked chick in a g-string with a little paint on her face. There is no sex in paintball!! I feel that its inappropriate, especially when you consider that there are a lot of younger players out there.

For magazines, I much prefer PB2X, PGi, and one that I didn't see many people mentioning, Paintball Sports Mag. PSM is by far my favorite.

And Knightwolf, sex sells. Look at any other products marketing. Cars, Video Games, Clothing. They'll all use half naked pretty women to promote their gear.
My job is to be an asshole. I excel at the position.
